The LOTRO Game Servers will be brought down on Wednesday, June 13th from 6:00 – 10:00 AM Eastern (-4 GMT) for an update to the game.

LOTRO has posted the release notes for Update 7.1 to the lorebook.

This week there’s not a whole lot of news since Update 7 released on Monday so this is a tad shorter of a show.

Pineleaf has prepared this video to explain the Skirmisher of Middle-earth Meta Deed that is new with Update 7.

As I mentioned in my last post, Update 7 added a new skirmish: Storm on Methedras. Like most skirmishes, Storm on Methedras includes a deed for completing all eight encounters. Yet this is not all.

The LOTRO Game Servers will be brought down on Monday, May 14th from 6:00 – 10:00 AM Eastern (-4 GMT) to launch the latest game update, Update 7: Shades of the Past.

Update 7 brings us the first new skirmish in a year. This time, we head into Dunland where Gwyllion, the Old Woman of the Mountain is concocting some nefarious scheme against the free peoples of Middle-earth.

Today Turbine has released some official screenshots for the new skirmish coming with Update 7, Storm on the Methedras.

I popped over to Bullroarer over the weekend to poke around a bit in Update 7. Some of the complaints I am here is revolving around the visual changes being reported. Mostly that folks find Moria to be “too bright” with the changes.

This week is a special (very non-typical) episode. Merric felt very ill Saturday afternoon and so Baby Hobbit and Goldenstar take over the air-waves and do the podcast on their own.

The (preliminary) release notes for Update 7 have been posted on the Bullroarer Forums. This update contains quite a bit of content changes as well as various class and bug fixes.

Some information on Update 7 has been posted to LOTRO’s web site. Update 7 is called “Shades of the Past” and while no date is posted, we have information on what is coming!
