Casual Stroll to Mordor

The Captain is my first go-to character. Why? Sure, it may be slower than some character classes when you start off in the lower levels, but like all classes it really comes into its own as it levels. And as a solo player, while using a Captain I find myself surviving situations where other classes would die.

My original plan had been to level each class at an even pace. I decided to concentrate on my Lore-master for a while have for three reasons. First, I was getting a little tired of alting.

For my recruit-level article on the Lore-master, I ran with Pinecone, my Landroval Lore-master. For the footman levels, I am returning to Pinestaff, my main lore-master on Windfola.

With the captain I had no troubles running in the 30s. Therefore, the increased difficulty in the 40s smacked me in the face. This was a signal that it was time to really learn how to play this class.

The information in my first article on the burglar covered the Footman levels more than the Recruit levels. Despite this, I generally avoided referring to skills you gained after level 20, so there is something to discuss concerning the burglar for this second series.

Content. It’s one of the main things that keeps us entertained as we progress through the game. And although new content is being released we sometimes forget about what content lies within the lower levels.

Ah, the Hunter. It wasn’t with more than a little trepidation that I picked up this character and began leveling to 40 with this character after a long stint of going through Enedwaith and leveling reputation with my Guardian.

Today, we will look at the minstrel. My minstrel is Pinesong and below she and her protector companion are spending a quiet moment at the Bree homesteads before setting out for war.

The Warden itself usually revitalizes me when I hit “the wall” with my alt leveling project. It really is a fun class that’s just “different” enough from other classes that I really get a kick out of playing it every time.

Today, we will look at the lore-master. My recruit-level lore-master is Pinecone and below he is visiting the Shire Homesteads with his bannerguard and bear companions.

I’m always blown away when I bring out the Rune-keeper, or any DPS for that matter really, with how easy it is to drop a mob.  It’s astonishing to me how quickly things can die when you play a class that’s actually meant to do damage!  Before I met my wife, I purely played DPS [...]

A look at my experiences with the Burglar from levels 30 – 40.

By the time I got to the Champion I was just about fed-up with the questing process of 30-40; which was not a good thing considering that I had a few more characters to level

I’ve been hot on the Minstrel ever since I discovered how effective it was at utilizing its offensive skills. I was seriously impressed and “in love” with the character playstyle. Although I was warned by Goldenstar and others that this could possibly change, I don’t think I was quite prepared with how frustratingly difficult things could actually become.

Despite discussing my burnout on the last couple of episodes (which is starting to fade), I started off with a pretty optimistic point of view with my Captain. What can I say about it other than I love this class (just not as much as Elborigorn).

Today, we will look at the captain. My captain is Pinecrest, who recently reached level 32. I currently run skirmishes with Arrowroot, my archer soldier, and Sycamore, my Herald of Hope.

The levels from 31 – 40 were excruciating painful for me. There really are no other words for it.
