Casual Stroll to Mordor

These few write ups are intended to help new players starting out in Lord of the Rings Online, but I’m also hoping a few older players will find it helpful as well.

I am finding myself very jealous of the Rohan women (and now the Bree ladies after update 9) and their very polished hairstyles.

One year ago today, my first article for CSTM was released. When I started writing for CSTM I had no idea that it would change what I enjoyed to do in my free time.

I frequently hear people explain in disbelief about how much something costs in the LOTRO store. Usually the exasperation is followed by a conversation of how much this is worth in US dollars, as if Turbine Points is a currency that can be found traded on the foreign exchange market.

Cosmetics have long been one of my favorite aspects of playing LOTRO. Upgrades to my wardrobe and outfit slots were purchased almost as soon as they became available. I figured dressing up my horses would be no different.

I was a bit nervous about the first day of Riders of Rohan. I made the decision to go against my better judgment and take the day off from work to see if I would be lucky enough to find myself able to log in.

If there’s one class that’s seen a lot of changes this year, it’s the Warden. Whether you think the class is overpowered or not, there is one thing that most people agree on: it’s one of the more complex classes in LOTRO.

Some of you may not know this, but the Lore-master was my first serious alt. I chose the Lore-master class because it seemed to be the polar opposite of the Guardian class.

In our kinchat, we’ve had a couple of lively discussions about legendary items, and I’ve been converted to the view that in some cases, a level 60 First Age legendary item is better to have than a level 75 Second Age legendary item.

The Burglar class is probably one of the more complex classes in LOTRO. It’s a class that has a certain amount of skills that are based on timing, buffs, de-buffs, and being very aware of your surroundings.
