I just graduated High School last month and have been preparing for my trip to college this August. In high school I went through 4 years of a pre-engineering program where I have had the privilege to try several types of engineering for free at a tech school so most of my day was spent having fun designing new things for our world to use.
Moving into college I plan to get a Masters in Computer Science with a focus on software engineering. My hope is to someday work at Google, Amazon or anyone good in the gaming industry (Turbine is hiring Software Engineers right now). Not only do I like engineering but the demand is huge for engineers in America right now. The fastest way to become a citizen of America legally from another country today is getting a degree in Engineering because we have such a shortage in our country and the shortage is only growing.
As far as gaming goes I have always had an interest in electronics ever since I started on the original PlayStation. I started MMO’s a few years later by playing RuneScape with many of my friends from school and I knew that I had found something very different than the rest of the gaming industry at the time. That same year, I read my first book by Tolkien (The Hobbit) for school and have loved his writing ever since. I read the Lord of the Rings for the first time right when the movies started to come out and so I have been blessed with a childhood full of Tolkien books, movies and games.
As time went on and my interest continued to grow I eventually got a laptop and started on LOTRO in its beta. At the time I did not have enough money for a subscription so I decided that I would keep it in mind for later.
Once LOTRO went Free to Play I jumped on it day one and have been hooked ever since. The same day I found A Casual Stroll to Mordor and started getting all my LOTRO information from them. After about a year of Free to Play I became VIP right after the release of Rise of Isengard and started to play monster play since my Freep made it to cap at level 75. My first monster play experience got me hooked because of how much nicer the Creeps were on Imladris and how diverse the gameplay was.
After seeing the lack of writing on monster play I decided to start writing on A Casual Stroll to Mordor in January of 2012 to try to get more people involved in PvP and Creep side. I have proceeded to talk about many more things than Creep side on A Casual Stroll to Mordor; including Mods, Musicals, books and Updates and really anything Tolkien related. Just recently I have started a new kind of roundtable called Update Talks because of my passion about news in gaming and LOTRO.
I have very recently transferred my main Freep from Imladris to Landroval because Freep side on Imladris has all but died. With all four raiding kinships transferring to other servers the endgame on Imladris has died. I started a search for a new server to transfer to by creating alts on each server and have found that in only 5 minutes on Landroval in Bree I had already had a better time than all my time on Imladris. This is why I am now a Freep on Landroval and have basically left Imladris.
Characters I am currently on
Landroval (Freeps)
- Anangg (lvl 75 Champion)
- Andang (lvl 16 Cappy)
Landroval (Creeps)
- Anndang (Defiler)
I am currently enjoying being part of The Lonely Mountain Band kinship on Landroval and can’t really imagine a better kin than these people.
Feel free to friend any of those characters and also feel free to E-mail me at andang@casualstrolltomordor.com about really anything you want to talk about because I love to talk with CSTM and LOTRO fans.
