AFRAID should have been an option. lol They are redesigning the core of several classes. 6 years in and they screw with Willpower? Agility? Fate? My hunter is very nervous about all this. :)

Agreed. Not only are there big changes coming, we don’t really know exactly what those big changes are going to be.

I’ve been holding off on building my SA L85 bow because I don’t want to invest any expensive Empowerment Scrolls without knowing exactly what’s coming in terms of power management.

And these changes are just precursors to major revamps for all classes, so color me afraid as well.
The only thing I’ll be doing with this update probably is finally getting my 85 2nd ages and getting them ready for updates 11 and 12. Not sure why though since I don’t really raid, and solo is so easy you could go through it like a hot knife throuhg butter with a grey loot drop weapon.

I lost 2000 Power, about 25%, thanks to these changes, still trying to figure out what approach to take on improving stats now

For everyone who pre-ordered the Riders of Rohan expansion 9 months ago, I think it’s about damn time we finally got some real group content.

Now if it had only been a Rohan raid or made any sense at all in this timeline, I might actually get a little more excited.

Not a super big fan of everything in it, but on the whole I’m excited to get the new stuff.

While i am also excited for pie, I am looking forward to getting able to slot my agility gear on my warden. I’ve been collecting!

As a near full-time creep player… I find myself less than thrilled at the prospect of the coming update.

As a periodic raider with my friends on freepside… I still find myself a little less than thrilled with the idea of more and more grinding.

Should I be worried that the only thing that excites me about the update, is the fact that loot rolls will have their own category and can therefore be filtered out of my main chat? I think I should.

New instances are, ofc, always good, but as it’s 3 raids to 1 6-man I won’t see them very often … and as for all the stat changes … I don’t need say more do I?

The only thing I am looking forward to is the opt out for forced emotes. As for the rest, I am really tired of Turbine yanking the warden class this way and that.

I’m excited about the opt out of emotes, but everything else, I think, was a waste of developer time.

    Not really excited :(

Not only do the raids feel like big skirmishes, but they’re also set in the future which doesn’t make any sense whatsoever.

Fate changes? I’m worried as most people on Bullroarer just spam the chat, begging GMs for golden recipes – which they don’t have/wont get on live anyway – and ‘then’ do their testing.
Why turbine encourages people to test with high end gear and not the lowest common denominator is just beyond me.

Hoping I can clean out my inventory as I am carrying around multiple armor and jewelry items since I don’t know which one will be better once they have reworked my class.

hate to say it but I’m not excited at all. been trying to keep the enthusiasm going for awhile, time to move on for a bit and perhaps come back refreshed and ready to enjoy the game again.

I’m always nervous when the Devs start mucking around with the classes. Does anything good *ever* happen when the Devs change things? I still have ill will over the string of bone-headed changes the Devs have made in the past.

For me, a good update is one that doesn’t change the fundamentals of *my* class and/or make me completely re-gear. Some of the ideas *might* be good, but far, far, too many class and system changes come down the line in a half-baked format (I’m looking at you Radiance). Don’t mess with it now, and you might not have to remove it later.

I understand why they make some changes (all medium-armour classes will use Agility, all heavy-armour classes use Might, and all light-armour classes will use Will for primary stats). I understand it even when I believe the reasoning given by the Devs ranges between ill-considered to nonsensical to just plain wrong.

I don’t think any of this “streamlining” was done for the sake of the players, but rather to simplify itemization. Now they only have to put three sets of gear in a tier.

I preferred things when they less straightforward and more interesting like when Minstrels could trait to wear medium-armour, Champions could use shields, and Captains had more than one primary stat.

I for one, had no problem with the “old” Dread-on-Defeat mechanic. In groups, ten minutes of +4 Dread was a good excuse to drop a repair anvil and discuss what went wrong. It was inconvenient when running solo, but players should learn to run away. It’s not like the landscape mobs follow for very far.

Objectively, this is a decent update. There is finally a new set of instances in place (for which people are waiting far too long).

Personally it represents the second update in a row with pretty much nothing for me to do. Back in the day if there was nothing else, you’d at least hope for an epic book each update.

The mechanics changes worry me. Too many of them feel driven by making development easier, rather than enhancing players’ experiences. I’ll wait and see, but at best it will be a wash with the situation now. The Fate changes are the only ones that I’d say have a chance of making things better, but even then its a wait and see.

I’m… befuddled. Not sure how all these stat changes are going to work, or how they’ll affect my characters.

But I’m not getting in that much play time at the moment, and don’t have characters at 85 yet, otherwise I might be more excited.
