LOTRO Store

The following items are on sale from March 1 – 7. Below you will find the sale listings as well as our recommendation on purchasing.

Free Sample of the Week

This food provides both in-combat and out-of-combat morale and power regeneration. The regeneration provided scales with your level. Kind of hard to get fired up about this freebie but I’m sure it’s nice to have around.

I haven’t tried to use this code yet but I don’t think it comes in 1-stack, the options are 5 or 25 so it’s one of those the coupon should work for. Try the 25-stack first and let us know if it works!

Get it free this week with coupon code: REGEN

Weekly Sale

+5,000 Enhanced Reputation Supply

Gain a bonus to all earned faction reputation until a total of 5,000 bonus reputation has been added. This bonus does not have a time limit, and only expires when the 5,000 bonus reputation points have been depleted.

Store Location: Buffs & Boosts → Advancement → Reputation
Levels: All
225-900
169-675

CSTM RECOMMENDATION: These are one of those convenience items that gives you a shortcut without the grind. These get a meh simply because it’s not necessary. You can get through the normal in-game methods or this item is available at the skirmish vendors.

Read more about the Enhanced Reputation Supply item in Merric’s Store Explorer post!

Legendary Slot Unlock

Level up and unlock an additional Legendary Item Slot in your Legendary Item panel! 2 Unlocks available! Once an item is slotted, you can then further upgrade your Legendary Items by using Legendary Tier Upgrades, Legacies and more from the LOTRO Store!

Store Location: Character → Character Upgrades → Legendary Slots
Levels: 50+
295
222

indifferent1_thumb1CSTM RECOMMENDATION: All characters get six slots to put legendary items in but sometimes you need more. The unlock is per character, not account and is for characters level 50+.

Legacy Tier Upgrades

Get greater bonuses! Upgrade the Tier of any Legacy on a Legendary Item with this scroll.

Store Location: Goods & Services → Legendary Items → Scrolls
Levels: 50+
295
222

CSTM RECOMMENDATION: A Legacy Tier Upgrade will upgrade one legacy on your legendary item one tier. These items are per character and will only upgrade one legacy on one legendary item.

This is what in-game is called a Scroll of Empowerment. There are different varieties in game based on the level of your Legendary Item but they are all named similar. For example a level 85 legendary item needs a “Riddermark Scroll of Empowerment”. These items are available in game from skirmish camps and barter tokens if you prefer to get it via an in-game method.

Seems like lately most of the sales are a ‘Meh’. This week everything is meh. Come on Turbine! Throw us some good sales!

I agree that we are getting many “meh”sales lately but I am thinking it may be related to the fact that there are still some issues with the TP distribution: turbine has already acknowledged an issue about the VIP monthly TP and many people report that they are having difficulties in buying TP points since the big maimtemce. So I believe that turbine is holding back on some good sales while trying to solve the aforementioned problems. Or at least I hope that that’s the case. :)

There is one very under-appreciated value to the reputation scrolls. They make crafting guilds about a thousand times easier. General day-to-day faction rep is no big whoop, but the amount that can be saved in terms of time and materials by reputation scrolls cannot be overstated.

What I do is I will make up a bunch of guild rep items, then I will activate my rep scroll and use the guild items until the enhanced rep is used up. Rinse. Repeat. Climb through the guild in half the time – what’s not to like?

I think the meh smiley is because you can get them ingame without using Turbine Points.

Yes, but then it is a grind for the marks/medailions instead of a grind for materials.

I fully agree with Mave: “the amount that can be saved in terms of time and materials by reputation scrolls cannot be overstated. “.

I also use the scrolls for 3 of my 4 guild crafters to shorten the material grind and cooldown periods for the guild rep items (I do not use them for my cook, since it is easy to get the materials from farming).

Well, this is a good sign — they always have the Legacy Upgrade sale just before they put Turbine Points on sale.

For those of us with alts and are very particular about multiple end-game builds for each, we tend to go through lots and lots of the legacy tier scrolls, to the point where grinding the marks for all of them is not feasible. I love it when these go on sale and I’ll be stocking up.

I get the meh because it isn’t needed to play the game. But it gets a big thumbs up from me. I’ve been waiting on the Legendary slot sale. As a mini with a healing set, a DPS set and a bridle I only have one slot left for legacy and shard farming. The extra slots aren’t needed, but they certainly help.

Same for my main, a reun-keeper.

2 slots for healing stone and satchel, 2 slots for DPS stone and satchel, 1 for a healing bridle, 1 for a DPS bridle already make 6 slots.

I have opened all 10 slots on a previous sale, so I have some room to level further bags, satchels and bridles to get attributes and somewhat decent relics by deconstructing at Level 31

It also takes a lot of time to grind the marks/medallions alternatively medallions/seals for the scrolls.

Therefore, also thumbs up for the Empowerment scrolls.
    - Thumbs up for all of the three above!

One other thing to point out:

The legendary slot unlock applies to LI #9 and #10 as well (the caption above says “two slots available”). I just bought the last two LI slots for my hunter and paid 221 Turbine Points each.

I found the rep boosters to be very useful when combined with hybold dailies.

Some of those are just diabolically bad quests, beacon and resupply being two that scream lack of design & testing, so being able to boost the rep means you can get into the cherry picking phase of that grind faster.

They wont make the token grind any faster but they will allow you to avoid the rotten apples.

The “resupplying the line” one with the nasty Crebain knocking you off the rope can be solved by drinking superior coffee (+10% run speed) and – if you have it – equipping gear with run speed buff (e.g. Raddir’s boots, +8% run speed). Some classes also have skills to accellerate the movement. You are much faster then and need less time to get over – less chances for the Crebain to get you.

For the beacon quest ask a Captain to “beam” you up there. It’s kinda cheating, but allowed by the gaming mechanics, it is not forbidden, eh?

Personally I can see the Meh’s for all 3.

The rep boosters are nice, I guess the time saved doesn’t feel worth the TPs — and there are always more mats if you are guild crafting.

The legacy tier upgrades are a different issue for me, I admit that I leave them alone because they make the equivalent item very expensive in game and then stick them in the store. That said, they may well be the only realistic way to max out legacy tiers if that’s your plan.

The only one I have bought was the legendary slots, but even then it was because they introduced bridles without giving us an extra slot to level them in. So buying them felt more have to rather than want to.
