Brag About Your Blog

February 14, 2013

Community

BlogWith today’s extended Turbine downtime (it’s 24-hour maintenance in case you weren’t aware) I thought some of us might be looking for some extra reading material. So we are asking you to share your blog with us.

Do you have a blog about LOTRO, gaming in general, or perhaps about Tolkien and his stories? Do you write LOTR fan-fiction or are an artist with a knack for drawing elves and hobbits?

We are inviting you to post a link to your blog here to share it with others. CSTM loves fellow bloggers and sharing interesting links and stories with our audience.

Please leave a comment with the name of your blog, url and a sentence or two of what your blog is about.

Since Under The Eaves is finished, I figured I’d post the Mylotro blog where it is mainly hosted. The blog is only a few months in the making but it contains the current stories I’m working on, along with a few random thoughts/poems/songs :)

Indrabar’s Rambles – mostly about lotro, with a dash of the Sims 3, and a smattering of other games along the way.

For all your nerdy and Middle-Earth Network news you can head over to randomfandom.me for great episodes with great guests such as The Tolkien Professor, The Quest Gaming Network, Members from The Lonely Mountain Band, Tolkien artists and several others. We have live episodes every Tuesday at 9:30 Eastern on YouTube and are also on I-Tunes.
I also have a YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/user/PvMPAndang?feature=mhee) where I do comedic runthroughs of the EPIC story, a weekly PvMP show, and skirmishes with Pineleaf.
Also if you head over to http://legendarium.me/ for all the news of Middle-Earth Network.

I write a small blog on the Lore-Master class along with some of my own experiences in LOTRO. Its kinda new , so theirs not a lot of posts, but I will be adding more. Upcoming topics include- How I went back at level 85 and ground out my virtues to max without wanting jump off the end of the earth.
    - Going back and completing the Epic books you haven’t done can add so much to the dull grind of end game.

My blog is about gaming in general, but LotRO is one of my main games. I like to write about my favourite class the Lore-master, in-game fashion and landscapes with nice views. The URL is http://ravalation.blogspot.com, but there’s a filter for LotRO-related stuff only:

Good initiative! I’ll look through all these blogs to make some new discoveries. :)

Though I’ve stopped posting new content, the story of Tuiliel, along with some poetry and other character stories, can be found at http://my.lotro.com/user-1027520/ I hope you find it entertaining.

By the way, for MyLOTRO bloggers, in Sapience’s recent comments about the very broken community site, he has stated that features that we currently have on that site are going to go away as part of the ‘fix’ to forums, etc. I’d suggest either putting in a word for the blog function, or at the very least making sure you have copies of everything you have posted there, in case it vanishes someday–we all know how much notice they gave us when they broke the site the first time, lol.

Thank you Goldenstar and CSTM! I have appreciated a shout out from you all before, and thanks for giving us bloggers another chance to advertise today.

Golden Treasure Inside is Hid is a fansite dedicated to looking at the lovely bits of lore that Turbine does such a great job weaving in to LOTRO. What are the differences between Harfoots, Stoors, and Fallohides? What are those weird statues in the Shire? Who was Arvedui and Earnur? What’s so special about those flowers in the Old Forest? Are the names of all those tombs in Evendim just made up? Rhudaur, Arthedain, and Cardolan – why do they sound familiar? And prostitution in Middle Earth – huh?!?!? Plus a few fun non-lore Easter eggs, like the Number One Threat to Middle Earth. Stop by any time!

Golden Treasure Inside is Hid is a fansite dedicated to exploring the lovely bits of lore that Turbine has done such a wonderful job incorporating into so many aspects of LOTRO. From the differences between Harfoots, Fallohides and Stoors, to the odd statues in the Shire. From the history of Rhudaur, Arthedain, and Cardolan to characters like Arvedui, Earnur, and Cirion. Gollum’s diet, Valentine’s on Cerin Amroth, and prostitution in Middle Earth (huh?!?!) Well, maybe there are a few fun non-lore nuggets thrown in there too, such as the Number One Threat to Middle Earth. Feel free to stop by!

If you love playing Lord of the Rings Online, all things Dwarven, or are a serious altoholic, stop by the The Khazad Guard. http://thekhazadguard.wordpress.com

The Khazad Guard is a blog charting the expolits of the mighty Khazad Guard, a Dwarf only Kinship on Eldar, but also has guides, naming conventions, cosmetics, lore, a full history of the Khazad Guard dating back to the First Age, and screenshots, lots and lots of screenshots.

(sorry for the URL not being listed as links, but the program prevented me writing too many “http”)

I know a lot of people have LOTRO in-game fashion blogs, but this is mine: http://andadrienscloset.blogspot.com/ It is a collection of outfits I’ve created or come across on friends or kinnies that I loved. It’s fairly new, but it is growing. I love talking about and sharing something I love and cosmetics is it.
