CSTM RECOMMENDATION: More space is always a good thing. You’ll always find something that you’ll want to keep. I will note that while you can buy all the vault upgrades in the store, only upgrades 7+ are store exclusive. All other vault upgrades can be purchased in game with in-game currency. I would recommend spending your pretend gold before dishing out your turbine points.

CSTM RECOMMENDATION: I love my shared storage and I’ll tell you why. Mailing stuff to alts one item at a time is annoying. This gives a shared location for all my alts to share things like crafting materials, food, sharable store boosts, or in my case overflow cosmetics. If you are doing a lot of swapping of items all over between characters, I highly suggest you consider picking this up.
Currency Cap
Carry unlimited gold!
• Remove the restriction on currency from all current and future characters created on your account!
• Allows you to buy a Deluxe house, which grants even more storage!

CSTM RECOMMENDATION: The currency cap can be annoying and this definitely is a worthwhile purchase. Bonus that it is an account wide purchase. It is free for VIP and if you downgrade from VIP to Premium to get to keep the unlimited gold cap, however it is only for characters you created while VIP. I think if you don’t plan on VIP for any length of time, this is a worthwhile purchase as an account unlock for all your characters including any future ones.

Increase the amount your character can carry! Unlock a 4th, 5th, and 6th Inventory Bag for all characters on your account – an extra 15 slots each!

CSTM RECOMMENDATION: I personally have no idea how anyone could survive with only three bags. VIPs do get bags 4 and 5 free (everyone has to buy the 6th) and if you downgrade from VIP to Premium you do keep the bags for any characters you logged in during your VIP time. It is an account wide purchase although you do have to buy each of the two additional bags separately and all your characters on every server will have all five bag slots open to them.

Aye. I have FINALLY (much much too late) realized that I should only grab turbine points and items in the store when they’re on sale…. Shame I missed out on the xmas double points… now I’m stuck, needing to upgrade legendary slots and my vault.

Is the inventory bag sale on the sixth bag as well or just bags 4and 5?

all bags are in the sale but you have to buy 4 and 5 to unlock 6. It won’t allow you to just pick which bag number you wish to buy.

If you got your 4th & 5th bag unlocked during your vip time you can purchase the 6th bag right away.

Yes. Sorry for not clarifying that but I was just trying to say you have to have 4 and 5 first. VIP/buy it doesn’t matter how.

No, you cannot… I had to buy bag 5 (since I bought no 4 before I went VIP) to get to bag 6. I was lucky, since that was just after the launch of Rohan and the 5th ‘only’ cost 495 for me.

Maybe they changed it in the meantime, but AFAIK you still need to buy 4 and 5 to get to 6, except of course, if you have 4 and 5 via VIP and bought the Legendary edition of Rohan.

If you were previously VIP, and have since downgraded to Premium, you do actually now have bags 4 and 5 on all characters, even those created after downgrading to Premium. This was the fix Turbine came up with for former VIP who wanted to buy the 6th bag. I tested this myself by creating a new character on a new server, and sure enough, the char had 5 bags (before I applied Rohan Legendary key which gave me the 6th).

The prices came from LOTRO’s announcement. I own all the shared storage so I don’t see the prices.

No they haven’t. What happens is that the shared storage I offers 20 spots and is pricier than the other expansions (II, III and so on) that offer 10 spots each, that’s why there is the range in price in the official announcement. When you haven’t bought shared storage at all you only see shared storage I in the lotro store so it’s easy to misunderstand it. The same goes for shared wardrobe (not on sale this week but thought to note that here for future reference).

Someone at Turbine made a mistake in the announcement; 20% off the Currency Cap removal price is actually 316tp. That’s the correct price for a 20% sale and that’s the price in the store. (Goldenstar reported it correctly, Turbine made the error in their announcement.) 276 would be 30% off.

You didn’t mention that bag six is in fact free for people who pre-ordered Rohan. I’m not sure how this works for people who aren’t VIP but it was one of the pre-order goodies.
