The following items are on sale from December 21 – 27. Below you will find the sale listings as well as our recommendation on purchasing.
Also the warden steed has been released (it is available in the store) but I don’t have a picture, yet! We’ll post that as soon as we can!
December Deals
The free samples will most likely be replaced by the new December Deals that will be going through-out the month of December. How Turbine is doing it this year is a couple items on sale over the weekend rather than a new item sale each day.

Expansion Quests
Choose a LOTRO Expansion Quest from the LOTRO Store and continue the journey to defeat the endless evil that runs rampant through Middle-earth!
Moria: Over 350 quests, seven full fellowship instances (Dark Delvings, Fil Gashan, Skûmfil, The Sixteenth Hall, The Forges of Khazad-dûm, The Grand Stair, and The Forgotten Treasury), and two 12-person raids (Dâr Narbugud and The Vile Maw) for levels 51 – 60
Mirkwood: Over 150 quests, 3 three-person instances (Dungeons of Dol Guldur, Sword-hall of Dol Guldur, Warg-pens of Dol Guldur), one full fellowship instance (Sammath Gûl), and one 12-person raid (Barad Guldur) for levels 61 – 65
Isengard: Over 375 quests and over 40 deeds for levels 66-75
Rohan: Over 400 quests & deeds for levels 75-85
Store Location: Accounts → Quests & Content → Expansions
Levels: 51+
695-1,495
486-1046
CSTM RECOMMENDATION: Content on sale will almost always get a thumbs up. I can’t even think of an instance when it wouldn’t get a thumbs up. I want to make clear here is you are only going to get the quests for Isengard.
30% off isn’t bad but if you need Moria, Mirkwood and Isengard, I’d recommend getting the Triple Pack (currently 50% off) instead of this sale – unless of course you’re sitting on a Smaug stash of TP.
What’s new though as this is the first time it’s included Rohan (which is also currently 50% off, btw) so those waiting to purchase this with Turbine Points, rejoice!
100% XP Boost (1hr)
Get more for your time with a 100% bonus to experience earned from killing monsters, completing quests, and Legendary item experience gained doing both! This effect will last for 1 hour. Single and 5-stacks available.
Store Location: Buffs & Boosts → Advancement → XP
Levels: 10+
150-600
105-420
CSTM RECOMMENDATION: I believe this is the first time we’ve seen this item on sale. Even so it’s still just a “Meh” type item as there’s no real reason to rush through content. If you’re going to buy them, 30% off is not a bad sale to catch.
Enhanced XP Supply
Increase your enhanced experience supply and battle on! Enhanced XP Supply is displayed as a blue section of your experience bar, and does not have a time-limit. Even stacks with other XP Boosts. Single and 10-stacks available.
Store Location: Buffs & Boosts → Advancement → XP
Levels: 7+
75-600
52-420
CSTM RECOMMENDATION: Talking with those who’ve used this, it’s sorta “meh”. It’s basically utilizing the stored or rested experience that VIPs get to give a blue bar on your experience bar of enhanced experience which just means a slight boost to mob kills.
VIP’s characters get this by simply not playing their character for a bit and it will build up, or they have the option to buy it with destiny points. This option is just to bring the same benefit to the free and premium friends and frankly, I think you are better suited spending your TP elsewhere. Nothing really wrong with it if you like them but think about it first.
This is probably preferred type of experience boost if you have limited playtime or experience a lot of interruptions. This isn’t time limited like the other boosters that give you a boost for a specified time. This will give you a boost for as long as that blue bar lasts, so you’re not rushed to get the most experience you can in a specific timeframe to get your TP worth of this bonus.
Outriders Token
Get more credit for your kills! Use this permanent pocket item to grant your character a +25% bonus experience towards monster kills when equipped. This item binds to your character when equipped. Note: Players who purchased the Riders of Rohan Pre-Order Legendary Edition or Heroic Edition automatically receive this item on all characters, and should not buy it.
Store Location: Buffs & Boosts → Advancement → XP
Levels: Up To Level 74
495

CSTM RECOMMENDATION: I actually own this token from pre-ordering the Riders of Rohan. On the whole, I do like this item. I’ve been using it on and off to help me keep up with the Dum group with my Burglar getting a bit of an experience boost when I notice folks starting to level and I have a ways to go.
It is a pocket item and so it does replace something that could be filled with stats. I typically do not use it for dungeon running (or at least a first try at a new dungeon for my group) preferring to use a stat item to make my character a smidge better. It is nice that because it is a pocket item I can choose when and where I use this 25% boost.
On the whole it gets a “meh” simply because I truly believe there is no reason to rush your leveling. It’s not a bad item but if you’re still on your first character, I highly suggest you do not rush to the end. Enjoy the journey through Middle-earth. I know I would love to be a newbie again and delight in exploring all there is to find in the world.
Task: Reset Daily Count
Get back to work! Return your daily task count to 0, allowing you to complete your full daily complement of tasks again! Purchasing this item will create an item in your inventory, which you will have to use to reset your daily tasks.
Store Location: Character → Tasks
Levels: 2+
100
70
CSTM RECOMMENDATION: This may be for a limited audience. I can see someone who really wants to finish their task deeds may be willing to plunk down a few turbine points to get that much closer. It gets a meh simply because it really isn’t necessary.
Increase Task Limit
Expand your horizons! Permanently increase the number of tasks that you can complete in any given day by one. You can never move beyond a maximum of fifteen tasks daily. 5 increases available for sale in the LOTRO Store!
Store Location: Character → Tasks
Levels: 8+
150-250
105-175
CSTM RECOMMENDATION: For those attempting to complete the deeds associated with tasks or may just enjoy the little extra experience / reputation turning them in affords it might possibly be worth buying. They get a meh from me simply because I find that tasks are completely skip-able and the task increase is only per character.

Task wise, if you are going to buy one, buy the increase task limit. Much more gain for only a few more points ( but I agree with GS, don’t waste your TP on them. You will gain up to 5 of each as you complete your task deeds)

about rohan:
if i buy the quest pack now, what happens if i want to buy the full expansion pack later on?
quest pack is about 1000 points right now. expansion pack is 4000. which seems a big difference to me just for instances and mounted combat.
however, if i buy the quest pack now and the full expansion later on, will have to pay the full 4000 points or do i get the discount because of the quest pack i bought before?
December 23, 2012 at 12:57 pm
You would pay the full price but you SHOULDN’T buy the expansion later on if you by the quest pack now. You should just buy the pieces you are missing (the instances for example).

thanks.
but what about mounted combat. i heard its free but you only get 1 of 3 trait lines? so how do i get the others then if i only buy the quest pack now? does the rest come with the instance pack too?
