Well, it appears that we have an official release date for Update 9. Today Sapience posted in the forums that it will be in fact released next Monday, December 17th,
He also goes on to say that the Hobby Horse that was intended to release (this was a thread related to the Hobby Horse) will not be included due to some graphical issues.
However, thanks to some very observant testers, we’ve discovered some graphical issues with the hobby horse that can cause it to behave in very…interesting…ways when certain systems are used in tandem. For example playing an instrument while mounted on the Hobby Horse.
The price of the Hobby Horse has been reduced to 995 Turbine Points and it will be released in a “future update”. He also warns that the Hobby Horse is available via the Yule Festival “loot tables” and it will experience the same issues until the graphics issue is resolved.

This was rather evident already if you read every blue-name post you can find. Nice to have complete confirmation though.
Looking forward to this, as I have some lowbies I’ve been wanting to try out the changes with, especially Open Tapping, Autoloot and the assorted combat stuff.

995 seems like a much fairer price for the Hobby Horse. I think a lot of people were expecting a reduction down to 1995, as well, and this goes a bit further. Which is nice.
Still won’t buy it, but at least it’s cheaper than class steeds.

995TP for the hobby horse is still way too much.

So the hobby horse is the new carrot to try and lure people into the revamped yulegrind?

I’m thinking of the Hobby Horse as an emote rather than a true mount.
I might just have to buy it for a couple of my characters.
It is true that it is rather painfully lore-breaking and will make hordcore RPers cry but it is just so much darn fun.
