I usually get the notification from the official forums, since I check the dev tracker fairly regularly. If not that, it’s CSTM’s twitter account.

I think Launcher and trying to log in should be separate.
Seeing it in the launcher means you read it in the launcher, but trying to log in makes it seem that you weren’t even aware it was happening so didn’t hear it anywhere.

The launcher is kinda the same source whether you read or login so that’s why it’s one option.

Yes, but if we read about the maintenance in the launcher on Sunday night when we log in to play, it’s not the same as finding out about the maintenance while trying to log in Monday morning.

Does it really matter this much to argue over a silly weekly poll? The choices may not be perfect but I think they are fine. Launcher reading vs Launcher login is both the launcher regardless of when you learned of the downtime.

I assume that it’ll be daytime monday unless there’s a post on cstm. Might be 2nd hand but usually more reliable than the first hand info of late.
Forums just irritate me with the constant logging out that goes on.
Launcher should tell you before you try and get online but that requires joined up thinking by the numpties in charge.
Twitter isnt something I consider as a good medium for companies making announcements beyond teasers for games or nonsense promo stuff like BL2′s shift codes. Not a fan of the antisocialmedia platforms.

I don’t know what I would do without CSTM. I wouldn’t know anything

Multiple Sources, including Facebook, Twitter, CSTM and the LOTRO Forums.

Multiple comments too. Subtle emphasis?

Actually, for whatever reason it hasn’t been letting me post while logged in to MME. Now it lets one through, after I logged out. Odd.

MME posts are going to spam. I am unspamming them manually. It is accepting your post.
If possible, remove your MME profile from the URL field and it should allow you to post while logged in fine.

Thanks for the heads up. For anyone having the same issue, go to your Profile on MME and remove everything in the Website field.

I put down multiple, but my main sources are both the dev tracker on the forums and twitter. More from Sapience (@rickheaton)when he retweets @LOTRO, though he is more than likely the one posting both.
I also follow both +CSTM and a few other sources on Google+ that post maintenance notices, but it’s usually after I have seen them on the dev tracker and twitter. I wish Turbine would use G+ more.

CSTM always. For store sales as well. Always the most reliable source, and I don’t usually check the official site out of habit.

Little bit of everywhere. Just depends where I notice it first.

I go to 2 places for my LOTRO info on any level … CSTM & twitter (twitter only for Maint. – CSTM for EVERYTHING else
The LOTRO forums are good communication, though.
(Facebook is useless)
