Player Achievements

Each week we ask you to share your successes in Middle Earth with the rest of the community. Post a comment letting us know what you’ve accomplished this past week.

We will pick comments at random to read on the podcast giving you a chance for a little shout out for yourself! Our shout-outs are only as good as the information we get so remember:

  • Don’t forget to add your character name, what server you play on and, if you like, add your Kinship if you have one.
  • Please keep your posts brief. We won’t be able to read full novels of your adventures. At least make it so we can easily sum it up!
  • Do not be afraid to post any of your achievements. We don’t care if you just saved Archet or cleared out the Tower of Orthanc. We want to hear from you!

These shout outs will appear in tonight’s recording of A Casual Stroll to Mordor Podcast. You are welcome to join us live at 9:30pm Eastern! First time joining us live? See our post on how to join CSTM’s live broadcast.

Comments for this thread will be closed after recording as this is a weekly thing. If you missed this week’s cut off, don’t fret! A new thread just like this one will appear next Friday.

Replacing the power supply in my PC without bricking the box!

Being my first MMO and having only been playing Lotro for a few months, I broke down and bought a bunch of cosmetic items “for funsees” as you say”. This actually refreshed my character completely and took away some of the growing staleness of playing solo. I even received a few compliments of passing players the last time I was in Bree. I also finally discovered the power of storing these in the vault and reclaiming my space in my bags! Now I have plenty of room for all this applesauce I crafted after hitting the jackpot on some AH ingredients.

My podcast did a month long review of Lotro when it came on Steam. My cohosts have all since left and went back to WOW, so I have picked up the pieces of our Kinship and pressed on solo recruiting members here and there. I am in the Lone Lands, wandering as a solo level 29 Minstrel and loving every second of it. I think the reason they left for WOW was that they simply don’t appreciate the slow journey and were only focused on end game material which was unobtainable in 1 month of play. I however simply can’t get enough of wandering to every dark corner of Middle-Earth and living in a fantasy world that I fell in love with the first time I read the LotR & Hobbit back in my middle school days. Their loss.

Keep up the great work on the podcasting. I am slowly working my way through your back catalog and loving the progression the show has made. I enjoy the consistent high quality, and as a parent I also enjoy listening to baby hobbit grow up a little every episode.

Despite Turbines attempts to stop him, between having a quest bug out so it cannot be completed and the rubber b… anding with mounted combat, Alexahil, Champion of Nimrodel from the Shirriffs of Cydonia kinship managed to make it to level 80 this last week. He’s the only character that has seen play. Go figure, when it’s going well mounted combat is AWESOME. I hope that Turbine can get all the kinks out of the system because I love me some riding down my enemies. I guess being a son of a knight of Dol Amroth is starting to come out. (His counterpart on Landroval isn’t level 75 yet, so no RP version of the mounted awesomesauce.)

Elleby Silverthorn, hobbit minstrel of Nimrodel

After trekking across the vast plains of Rohan atop my trusty warpony Melody, I reached the city of Snowbourn and upon saving the city from certain doom I reached level 85. As this was Halloween night, I actually hit the level cap while dressed as a giant chicken.

I then took the time to craft my new second-age minstrel book which I entitled “Another One-Thousand Great Pie Recipes”.

To close out the events of this fulfilling day, I ventured back to the shire just in time to watch the sunset over the shire homesteads.

  5. Saelyth Says:

nothing new, waiting for instance pack.

  6. Rabbitses Starkfoot Says:

My burglar, Rabbitses Starkfoot the Gallant of Faramirs Army on Windfola, dinged 80 this week! He is really getting the hang of mounted combat. It’s super fast and fun! Rabbitses is headed into the Entwash Vale now. Hurrah!

  7. Atheron Says:

I wrote you guys back in June as Anonymous Warden talking about how I was getting married. Well, I’m pleased to report that as of this month my Hobbity wife and I have been happily married longer than Kim Kardashian was. Woot!

  8. scott Says:

Hit 85 on my Captain and started rebuilding that burnt up town of Hytbold. Man, that town should have bought some insurance to cover the fire damage. Now me and every other level 84 toon has to use the sweat of our brow to put this slum of a place back together. Geez, where is Allstate and a deep voice talking guy when you need him?

  9. Twitcheetwitch Says:

    Meneldor, The Claws of Abigail

When Rohan launched, I had six characters at level 75. In the past week all of them have earned their Warsteed, and two have made it along the epic storyline as far as Eaworth. I find that I’m in no hurry to rush to the new level cap, but instead I’m having a lot of fun just playing whichever character I feel like at the moment and slowly exploring Rohan. What a great expansion! And I love mounted combat.

  10. Beryline Says:

I’ve been hard at work NOT getting to 85 yet, and NOT finishing the epic story yet. Just having fun exploring and doing all the side quest storylines, with occasional chats with Eomer and other known names.

I’m really enjoying the random encounters when people gallop up and help take on a warband. This expansion is FUN.

  11. Oli Says:

Finally made it to Rohan! :D

  12. Thurinphir Says:

Just yesterday Thurinphifnirol Swiftfoot of the Quickpost became Thurinphifnirol Swiftfoot, Riddle Master!!! he has done roughly 25 runs of “Inn of the Forsaken” because of crashing and too late nights. Yesterday he got his last 6 riddles (scrolling through them with /slap, I got the /slap one by accident xD)
my Lore-Master still hasn’t run it in a group, but has run ~10 of his runs in tier 2 (there is a specific point near the start that is much easier with both a ‘Brawn’ and ‘Lore’ class, however, an ‘Aware’ class makes the entire innstance easier)

Aslaron Thurinphir, Extra (my champion representative on the Landroval server) hit 39 some time ago. I noticed his insane AoE damage when Flurry is up (I should try a non-common main-hand or a non-common 2-hand)

    -Thurindos, Medic of Mirkwood

  13. Kazren Says:

    Hi,

My 85 Champ Eorohir on Elendilmir got all his Storm armour from Hytbold and has rebuilt the forge and mill superior stations and a lot of warbands have felt his blades go ching-ching.

My Mini Winney is 83 and entering Fangorn and helping the refugees of Thornhope with her melodies. Several other alts are making their way through from the Brownlands.

On Landroval my Warden received the First Age Legendary Spear from the Child’s Play Auction, my first, First Age weapon ever!

    Have a wonderful week.

  14. Adanorod Says:

Adanorod, a newly level 85 Warden on Elendilmir reached level 85 this past Thursday! I am having a blast rebuilding Hytbold and getting rep with all of those Rohirrim factions. I also finished the Epic line, and I can’t wait until they release a new book, I really enjoyed reading the quest text!

-Guardsman Adanorod the Brilliant of Elendilmir, 85 Warden

    • Adanorod Says:

Edit: I also got the Orc Head on a Pike and the Spotted Warsteed this week too. They both look awesome! :D

  15. Ellendis Says:

Yesterday, on the server Nimrodel, my kinship and I finally completed all of orthanc T2 in under 3 hours ( actually 2hrs 52mins). We were all very happy after this accomplishment, because no one on the server had done a full run of Orthanc T2.

    lokaster Says:

Today I finally leveled Lokifrid, my first character (a captain) created in the Brandywine server (in november 2007) to 85. It took me a way more than I expected, but playing 2 hours a day whenever I had time took me 19 days from the Riders of Rohan launch. Now I’m eager to see if there is some more contant to do since I just started the first 5 Hytbold quests that I already know I’ll be doing daily. Now, it is time to work in developing the last tier of my crafting skills.

  17. Lewis Maskell Says:

    Erethuil on Laurelin

Busy doing what I can for the folk of The Wold – even when some of them are a little suspicious (ie, Harding at Harwick).
