We have a new “Determine Your Discount” sale that is active until November 11, 2012. How this works depends on what you buy. The more you are buying, the bigger the discount you could receive.

You do not have to buy the items on sale to use these discount codes although sale items are included so you can stack up the savings. It totally depends on the total in your cart when your ready to check out.

There is a limit of 10 uses of these coupon codes per account. This is important to note if you wanted to buy a lot of character-only items for multiple characters are each character would have a separate transaction and would be using one of your code uses.

Spend At Least: Discount: Coupon Code:
1000 Turbine Points 10% CART10
2000 Turbine Points 20% CART20
3000 Turbine Points 30% CART30

Shopping Scenarios

Here are some scenarios to help you understand how you can apply the codes to get your items at bigger discounts. Your mileage may vary based on what you already own but this can give you an idea at least!

Riders of Rohan Expansion Example

Some of you may not have purchased Riders of Rohan and were planning on purchasing it with Turbine Points. Here’s a way to get 30% off!

Add into your cart:

  • Expansion: Riders of Rohan – 4295 TP

Total = 4295 TP

Use 30% off discount code and pay 3007 Turbine Points!

Store Exclusive Horse Example

We know that store exclusive mounts give us more cosmetic options for our steeds so if you were looking to get a new steed here’s a way to get it at a discount! The steed of night and any of the class steeds count for the cosmetic options (gear only). Currently all of the available class steeds except the minstrel steed is available.

Add into your cart:

  • Steed of Night (or any class steed) – 1995 TP
  • Remove Skirmish Defeat Penalty – 20 TP

Total = 2,020 TP

Use 20% off discount code and pay 1,616 TP.

Note if you aren’t a big skirmisher you can replace that item for something like a restoration potion (25TP) or some of the dye pots are 25 TP as a still low price alternative. If you don’t care about the extra item, there’s several crafting recipes that sell for 10TP like a Carrot Crop Recipe. I was just trying to find something remotely useful.

Weekly Sale Example

This week Monsters are on sale so here’s an example utilizing the sale to get even better price on these items.

Add into your cart:

  • Blackarrow Monster Class – 597 TP
  • Defiler Monster Class – 597 TP

Total = 1,194 TP

Use 10% off discount code and only pay 1,075 TP. If you purchased all of these at full price it would have cost you 1,590 TP. 24% savings!

Too bad they didn’t put back out all the stabled class steeds and cosmetic bundles for those that missed them the last time around for this sale.

Not too bad for an overpriced pack of colors it is only 235 points more than what I would have paid for the steed alone.

I wound up getting a soldier reset scroll to push me into the next discount category because you can’t buy more than one LI slot at a time. Profit: 42,688 marks!. Enough to rank up 3 more soldiers to the level of my original one if I choose to. Wow.

I’m considering the color packs. Five packs for 2100 per character more or less equals the price of a class steed. Still think it’s really expensive for a single character color feature but Turbine will not change those prices unless hell freezes over. I’m still sitting on points that I bought with the double bonus, so 5 packs would cost me $14.24 per character. I can live with that, though I regret they are auto-used on purchase so I cannot pass them on to other characters.
In any case I think it’s the best deal for color packs that we will see in a long time, so it feels like a now or never opportunity.

If I had a single main I’d probably have jumped on it if I’d put the math together, but I play the 3 so equally and love new characters so its hard to make this kind of single character investment.

      Instead:

      LI slot (char) 295
      Shared storage (120-130) 695
      Vault Upgrade (char) (135-150) 895
      Scroll of Skirmish Refund 295
      =2180 TP * .8 (20% discount)=1744 TP

I’m the same way. I regularly play five different characters. Who in their right mind would spend this money five times?

yea I’m actually quite sickened with the price tags for all the new mount related items in store. If the prices were more realistic we would end up parting with a lot more cash for T.P’s The colours and even the trait layout slots are seriously overpriced and im just not parting with the coin. I’ll learn to live with what comes for free within the game. After all I am paying £20 subscription and I do reg buy tp’s but at these prices per character its just became un-affordable.I will think twice about buying more turbine points for any purpose now!

Ok, I didn’t buy the Legendary RoR pack and would like to get that 6th bag for cheap. Problem is, the 6th bag is not available. The LOTRO Store has the 4th bag for some reason when I go there. All my toons have 5 bags, what gives?

    Reply

    • Corvald Says:

The 6th bag is still disabled in the store. I take it you’re not currently VIP, but was before? They’re still trying to fix the store to take into account people who have unlocked bags 4 and 5 for some characters, but haven’t bought the account-wide bag unlocks.

      • scott Says:

Yeah, I don’t understand the 6th bag not being available but bag 4 is? Yes, I was VIP before, but when you drop to Premium the store knows which Quest packs you have or don’t and makes the appropriate quest packs or skirmish packs available. But it doesn’t understand if you have 5 bags and want to buy a 6th? Strange.

I am tempted to buy the Steed of the Loremaster, because that was my main toon at one time, but now I have 5 75+ toons, so its a lot of points if you have Alts. I feel like I’m neglecting the others.

Part of me hopes that they monitor and adjust warsteed frippery costs based on the volume that will no doubt be bought in the 30% bracket. Part of me doesnt as I still feel the unadulterated cost is too high for what they are.

I’m still on the fence about getting any even at 30% off as it kind of nods an OK to the pricing goblin that spat out the numbers initially.

Oh yes. This is what I’ve been waiting for. I have a stock pile that will let me get RoR and unlock many of the creep classes. A 30% discount on top of the current discount gets it within my budget :)

Still….I will wait until Sunday. Perhaps a Veteran’s Day only sale that will be even better.

Yea it makes me sad that the 6th inventory bag is not available yet for this discount. I’ll have to see if there’s any other big-ticket items I might want…

Would be all over this, however I want the steed of the hunter for, well my hunter (who is all of level 20) yet I would love the cosmetics for said steed on my level 80 Warden. Fix that and I’ll spend some more tp :D

    Reply

    • scott Says:

I agree. When you preordered Moria back in the day you got a goat for every toon that you had and every toon that you would create. Almost 2000TP to buy cosmetics for one toon is a lot, when there are fesitval horses and Faction horses that you can earn in game for way less effort than accumulating 1995 TP. Still a 20% discount makes that horse now around 400 points cheaper.

I’m bummed because I was waiting for this sale, and was wanting to get the “Stat Bundle” for many of my alts. No matter which one I’m on with, the “stat bundle” keeps returning a “this is not available for your character” error.

I’ve tried with newer characters who have never gotten any stat upgrades, as well as on character the has gotten two bundles, but no dice. If I just go the the character tab in the store, I can see the individual stats listed, but under “special options -> bundles -> Stats”, I get the error.

Can anyone else try and see if this is available for them?

    • Andy Says:

Just checked a lowbie alt and both the bundles and single tomes are there.

I just did a search for tome and scrolled through the list to find it.

I love this. I backed off getting Rohan and as I wasn’t in a rush to get in the area I thought I would wait for the next discount. Bought the expansion plus a couple of creep classes I hadn’t played since being a VIP. There are times when it pays to wait.

This is great! I had saved up for Rohan but hadn’t bought it yet, so with those TP I was able to get the expansion AND the premium wallet (which I’ve been dying to have) AND a couple of skills for my creep. Wahoo!
