Free Rapid Remount until November 14, 2012

LOTRO Store

For those of your who get the LOTRO Newsletter (I had to fish mine out of the spam folder so check there, too), there’s a coupon code for a free Rapid Remount good until November 14th.

en_rorreport_offer2_06

The description in the store is:

When used, this item lets you instantly remount your War-steed once in the next ten minutes. Your War-steed is summoned with full health, making this item perfect to give you that extra edge in a pitched battle. Each use only lets you mount your War-steed instantly once, so be careful about when you use it. Delivers a Writ of Remount.

This item has a minimum level of 75 on it so you will not be able to use this coupon for lower level characters. I believe this code will only work on the single boost (50 TP), not on the 5 stack although I haven’t claimed mine yet to double check.

We had a free rapid remount a couple weeks back  so it’s nice to get two freebies of this so soon after launch. I have my other one but I haven’t (remembered) to use it yet so I can’t share my opinions on it. Anyone have opinions to share on this new store option?

Use Coupon Code: REMOUNT8

It’s a scroll like the summon soldier in combat so for me gets a meh even being free.

I find that if I’ve been dismounted I’m dead before I hit the ground despite being full health seconds before thanks to latency and the sluggishness in rohan areas.

These are actually kind of helpful. Not helpful enough to buy, mind you, but if they’re giving them away, I’m not going to complain.

If your warsteed is out of power, dismounting and remounting will refill their power (and morale) bar(s). With the last free one, I purchased and used it while soloing one of the nastier war-bands so I could instantly remount and top off my mount’s bars.

    Not sure if they check somehow the level of characters on an account (VIP account, I do not have any characters over 75) or whether it is a different offer in Europe; as I received a similar email offer but with a ‘Free +20% Mount Speed Boost’ which lasts 1 hour. The code given was;

    MSB8

which I used to redeem one earlier today.

May well be that others who received the higher level one can use this code to redeem the buff also?

I’m starting to suspect some of these are more targeted offers. I get the DDO one almost weekly, while I only see the lotro newsletter once in a blue moon!

*sigh* Just give me the mailings!

I’ve even sent in a ticket asking to be added to the list for the LOTRO emails. Supposedly I’m on the list, but I still only get the emails notifying me of store purchases.

Ketani, I’ve had exactly the same problem for several months and can’t find a way to solve it :(

I fought with them for months and months (like 18 months!) over this, trying to get myself added to their newsletter list, and after finally managing to go two ranks up the customer service food chain (to a supervisor and finally a manager), I learned two things:

1 – One of the web forms to supposedly subscribe which they have/had on their site was misconfigured or repurposed at some point, and using the form actually puts your email address in to be PERMANENTLY unsubscribed!

2 – Their software, in its current state, cannot allow them to unsubscribe anybody. Once you’re in there and flagged as a DO NOT MAIL, they will not send it to you. Period. End of story. (Whether this is partly because of corporate policy or entirely due to technical limitations, I could never really get a straight answer.)

SOLUTION – After many more weeks of going back and forth on this, a CSR figured out a work-around for me: I created a gmail account called my-same-email-address.lotro@gmail.com and then forwarded those emails to my regular email account. (Substitute “my-same-email-address” for whatever your usual email is, just add the .lotro to the end for receiving newsletters. That’s all this account is for, since they cannot send them to your normal address for some reason, or you’d already be receiving them, right?)

Then, just have Turbine subscribe your alternate.lotro@gmail.com address instead, and the newsletters will be forwarded to you. Problem solved. =)

Sorry if this got a little wordy, but I know lots of folks would like to know why they can’t get the newsletters, and also what they can do the be able to receive them. It took many, many months of weekly contact to arrive at this solution!

P.S. Be sure to check Google’s spam filter for your newsletter, and teach Google it’s not spam by moving it out using the button provided.

I seem to have an issue with the newsletter as I suddenly stopped receiving it some months ago and can’t find the correct way to request it back though I have searched in the mylotro and turbine sites. Does anyone know where can we toggle it on/off? I hate loosing this kind of stuff :/
