Fellowship Walk Update: All the Way to Weathertop

We had an absolutely amazing week for the Fellowship Walk!

First we had the completely awesome “Get Us Out of the Old Forest Party” on Saturday. With wonderful performances by Second Breakfast and the BBB band joined the Andune Ensemble we had some amazing tunes including the new original song “The Fellowship Walks for Me” by Aegthil.

Apart from the music and dancing we had a whole set of prizes from Ghingeriel of Landroval to give away to attendees of the party! If you were at the party be sure to check this post to see if you’re listed as a winner!

On Saturday alone we raised $1,264 for Child’s Play! I was so pleased and absolutely astounded at the generosity of our LOTRO community!

We had enough for our $2,000 goal by Wednesday and after the concert on Saturday we had $3,543.50 in donations; enough to travel from Tom Bombadil’s House all the way to Weathertop. That’s four goals walked in one night!

Vraeden is in a giving mood and has offered up a 2,000 TP code for the person with the best screenshot using the /fishslap emote. In return, he will donate the same amount (in dollars, not TP) to Child’s Play. It’s fun, it’s for sick baby hobbits and it annoys one of Vraeden’s kinmates. Win – win – win! Continuing the Walk

Our next goal is on towards the Last Bridge in the Lone-lands after reaching $4,000 in donations. We currently have $3,672 so we aren’t far off at all!

I’ve heard from several folks they’ve missed walks and wanted to know when the next one will be. We don’t walk until we reach a goal (Saturday’s party was an exception since it was a planned event) so I cannot predict when the next walk will happen.

However, I can tell you that when a walk happens I do several things:

• Blog post announcing the continuation of the walk. They typically look like this.
• Numerous Twitter updates from our @strolltomordor account
• Facebook and Google+ posts about the walk
• Announcement and Event created on our Steam Group
• Event created in the CSTM MEN group (which shows in the event widget on the side bar of the blog)

If you want to make sure you don’t miss the next walk, you should be making sure you are following us in at least one of these areas!

Please help us spread the word! Tell your friends, gamer or not. Child’s Play is a wonderful organization that is really impacting the lives of sick children.

Remember that no donation is too small! Every little bit helps and it is going straight to help sick children laugh, smile, play and forget their illness for just a little while!
