International Talk Like A Pirate Day be Wednesday, September 19th! This be a special day that Turbine likes to have fun with as well including the in-game event Tale of the Shipwrecked Mariner.

Head out to the shores of the Brandywine River near the Brandywine Bridge on the Bree-land side to find some quests pertaining to this event! It is active now!

There are also additional goodies in the LOTRO Store celebrating being a pirate such as eye patches and pirate hats. All the fashion rage for the middle-earth pirate. I do suggest you run through the events before rushing out to buy these items as most (possibly all) can be obtained by the event quartermaster.

This event will be active from September 17th through 21st. Yarrrrr!

How about a steed with an eyepatch as a reward, adorned with piratey treasure?

Oh, this will be the first year I can really participate in this event. I think I’ll do this with a few characters of mine!

I have had every one of my toons dawning the pirate eye patch since last years event. Nothing better looking than a female elf runekeeper with one of these.

Why is a quest marked as level 10 sending me up to Annuminas, with monsters level 30+ that can kill me quite easily? *sighs*

Just swim the whole way and keep an eye out for swimming monsters and you’ll be fine :)

I have done that quest 4 times now and the only two monsters I have seen in the water have stayed quite close to the shore :)

Hmmm, I’d call this one a mini mini mini mini event. Didn’t realize all it was was one quest to vollect rum and “cram”, with three rewards to pick from, the hat, the eyepatch, or a combo. So do them once, stick them in wardrobe and you’ve done it all. Treasure hunt soon?

Hey Guys! I did this quest last night and found out you can also get an additional “First Mate’s Hat” that’s actual armor – level 35! There is a “locker” hidden among the kegs and crates you collect on the edges of the Branywine which holds the hat amongst other goodies. :D

I think I remember seeing a few different armor pieces out of those lockers last year — mostly stat’d variations of the pirate-y cosmetics for various levels. Yarrr!

Oh neat, I thought the armour was random. Never managed to find one myself, but my husband did.

Shaidde got her eyepatch at this event two years ago, and hasn’t taken it off since. She comes up with many stories as to how she lost her eye, but in truth it was while teaching her goat, Randall, to dance.
