Thanks to your donations, the Fellowship Walk has been able to make not one but two treks already! It is just the beginning of the fundraiser and I’m so pleased to announce that the Fellowship has already made it to Frodo’s house in Crickhollow!
We’ve had wonderful walks with a great crowd for our Fellowship making a very impressive long line along the path! We’ve had visitors from all sorts of servers join us on Landroval as well as a wonderful showing of support from my native Landroval-ians.
Initial Walk: September 23rd
To be honest, upping the goal from $5,000 to $7,000 this year made me pretty nervous. That’s a lot of extra money we have to try and raise and since we wanted to still follow the path of Frodo from Bag End to Rivendell, it meant the goal ranges had to be increased (I think next year I’ll try to think of more mini-goals).
As a result, our first walk from Bag End to Hobbiton which was only a $100 in the past was now a $500 goal. Eep! I was concerned if we didn’t meet the goal by the 23rd, what would I tell the walkers?
My fears were unfounded as we not only made the $250 goal but had a total of $732 raised by the end of the evening. I should know better than to fret about the generosity of LOTRO players!
Merric live streamed the walk which can be seen here! It’s un-edited at this point so you can skip ahead quite a bit before we start walking (at least half way). The line is quite impressive! I think this is the largest we’ve had for a starting walk!
Second Walk: September 24th
The very next day we were able to reach the second goal of $1,000 which meant a walk to Frodo’s home in Buckland, Crickhollow! Again we surpassed this goal ending with $1,196 at the end of the evening!

Continuing the Walk
Our next goal is to visit jolly Tom Bombadil at his home in the Old Forest when we reach $1,500 in donations. We currently have $1,282 so we aren’t far off at all!
Please help us spread the word! Tell your friends, gamer or not. Child’s Play is a wonderful organization that is really impacting the lives of sick children.
Remember that no donation is too small! Every little bit helps and it is going straight to help sick children laugh, smile, play and forget their illness for just a little while!
The way to donate is through our ChipIn widget on the main blog page. It is located in the upper right corner. Click the orange “ChipIn” button and give what you can!
Thank you everyone for your support!
