This week we have special visits from Baby Hobbit throughout the show with little interruptions. We discuss new dev diaries, screenshots, experience and open tapping changes, goodie-bag delay and more!
This week Baby Hobbit attended her very first Tiny Tumblers gymnastics class.
Merric has been working on Volume 2 so he can help the Dums this week as Sodum will be out this week.
Goldenstar’s Dum group is working on the epic book and did the Hall of Mirrors (2.8.3) and had to split our 6-man group into two 3-man groups to complete it. She was able to reach 150 fishing skill (and isn’t super pleased about it). Finally she has started working on the epic book in Great River as she hasn’t completed it yet.

Hey guys. I thought since you are in the same area I’m in (I’m in Holland btw) and next year’s Mythcon is basically in our backyard (Lansing if you didn’t already know) I thought I would see if you want to get in on planning a network event during it. We’re having a brainstorming session Thursday at 9:30 pm if you want to get in on the action.
The magic happens July 12-15.

Hey guys
I recently retired my old ipod for a new android powered phone, HTC Optimus.. and was wondering if you knew of a good (free) podcast downloader/player for the android operating system. I have tried many, and some lack features and some are just too simple.. I dont know if you use an android powered phone, but i seem to remember you saying you dont use Ipods? I could be wrong, anyways.. and ideas would be appreciated! Thanks!

Dear Goldenstar and Merric,
I was listening to Episode 159 of the Casual Stroll to Mordor podcast, and heard you read an email from a listener about how he was able to get the Mithril Edition shipped to him for free when his local GameStop didn’t have it in stock. When I went to my local GameStop, they also were out of stock, but the employee simply sold me a direct download code for the same $9.99 price. He wasn’t doing anything special for me either; it was simply one of the options on his checkout terminal. So I think that, although one can’t buy the digital distribution Mithril Edition from GameStop’s website, it *is* available in-store, which is a lot more convenient if they don’t have a boxed edition in stock. Thought I’d pass that along.

Ciarduin – I have an Android phone and I use BeyondPod. It’s not free, but it has a 7 day free trial period and the purchase price is only $7. I love the features.

A once in a while visit from Baby Hobbit is ok, however, this past show was just not good. I had to turn it off after 10 mins of rambling by the hosts. I realize that the news has been slow since the delay of RoR and frankly the game now bores me now, but I used the show to keep my spirits up until it releases. Maybe, during this time you should go to a once every other week format until something of significance comes up. Sorry for the rant, but I’ve been listening to the show for quite some time.

Your discussion about open tapping completely changed my mind! I’d been a bit skeptical due to a perceived unfairness, but you’re both right: there really is no downside. While it’s possible for someone to leech (at least in terms of loot, given the XP gain just isn’t substantial enough to worry about), it’s not really practical, would be kinda slow (letting someone else do all the work), and would be deadly dull. Open tapping does seem to be all good: no more competing for kills, jumping on a needed mob as it respawns; I can see deeding getting that much easier.
Thank you for helping me see the light.

I hate fishing too! When will LOTRO make another hobby? What is the hobby master for anyway?
