Each week we ask you to share your successes in Middle Earth with the rest of the community. Post a comment letting us know what you’ve accomplished this past week. We will pick comments at random to read on the podcast giving you a chance for a little shout out for yourself! Our shout-outs are only as good as the information we get so remember:
- Don’t forget to add your character name, what server you play on and, if you like, add your Kinship if you have one.
- Please keep your posts brief. We won’t be able to read full novels of your adventures. At least make it so we can easily sum it up!
- Do not be afraid to post any of your achievements. We don’t care if you just saved Archet or cleared out the Tower of Orthanc. We want to hear from you!
These shout outs will appear in tomorrow’s recording of A Casual Stroll to Mordor Podcast. You are welcome to join us live at 9:30pm Eastern on Saturday!
First time joining us live? See our post on how to join CSTM’s live broadcast.
Comments for this thread will be closed after recording as this is a weekly thing. If you missed this week’s cut off, don’t fret! A new thread just like this one will appear next Friday.

After a few weeks of nagging I was given the job of tanking Draigoch with my Captain, first time it went wrong in the second phase, but we we’re successful on the second attempt.
I can now add it to my list of stuff I’ve tanked. This last thing I want to try is Saruman on Tier 1.

(love the Saruman guide, even though I’ll never be able to run it)
August 24, 2012 at 6:41 pm
Thanks, but… honestly i feel it must be better explained, i’m looking forward to break it into pieces and Add different sections for it for an easy reading. I will Probably change a few screenshots as well, too messy. I wish i could make it as easy as Gortheron raid guide in OD.
Next update will have this… But i’m still working on it.
-New: The strategys windows can now be resizable, but only in it’s heigh position.
-New: The little icon hides when you press f12 (To take screenshots).
-New: All the texts in the guides is now able to be copied and pasted using ctrl+c and ctrl+v Selections.
-New: Divided the strategys of Raids and 6-mans into different .lua Files, to edit easier if anyone want to. (The raid info file was getting pretty big in size)
-Fixed: ToO Acid had a problem with the expected height of texts. I fixed that.
-Fixed: I explained better the debuffs in OD Gortheron tier 2 and added 1 screenshot.
-Fixed: We couldn’t see a text in saruman fight because i did set wrong it’s height size.
-Updated: The Special words section of Raiding 101.
-Updated: OD map now shows the right order to do the wings.
-Updated: 6-mans section got a visual improvement while i figure out for wich one start.

Reached lvl 75 on Laurelin with Kandral. Mixed feelings about it, as I wasn’t chasing the level cap. Still loads of fun to be had I’m sure…. and looking forward to Rohan off course.

I have finally done the almost unthinkable. I finally have an alt thats passed 50.
Drufi Steelsong is a lvl 52 Dwarf Minstrel (who plays like a WoW Paladin btw) and i am having a ball on this guy. LI is fun… ive seen Freep side of Ettenmoors (then ran out asap)… Moria is AWESOME, never gonna leave that place ever!
Here’s what Drufi himself has to say about it:
“Dunno what folks have against Moria… does my dwarven heart good to finally dwell in the deep places where Durin’s folk once lived. After all this time Thorin’s Halls were getting a bit cramped if you know what i mean.”

Managed to find a little play time in between work and rehearsals this week to take advantage of the XP bonus: Warden to 72, RK to 67, LM to 61, Guardian to 56, Burglar to 51, Hunter to 46. Also, scratched another few encounters off the list toward Skirmisher of Middle Earth. Probably won’t make it before RoR release, even with the extension, but it’s mostly just to give me a goal to work toward right now on my Cap.

My mini Suzia on Landroval, member of Remnant, hit 69 today! It had been my goal to get her to 75 in time for RoR, but now I have some more time. I also started a new Guardian Suzibel (Landroval) 10 days ago, and she is 23 now (gotta love that 100% XP bonus last weekend
).

Happy Friday! This week I got my fifth character, Fiorwyn the RK, up to 75th level. She’s now finished the epic quest line and is going back to get Limlight Rep and run the Dailies. I didn’t realize with my very first character that you had to get 2 anvils in all craft levels, so he got clear to Westfold with only one in each line, so today I’m going back and trying to get him two. What a chore!
Have a wonderful week and thanks for this great site and the podcast. I love the round tables and hope we get more updated ones soon.

I’ve been leveling a hunter in North Downs and Evendim, regions I hadn’t purchased when I did my mini. Went up on the colossus for the first time this morning- what a view! It even prompted me to learn how to do a screenshot. Enjoying the fact that my main can craft crit gear as soon as I level up. It makes everything so much smoother (the bonus xp event helped a lot too).
Saurio Bumblerod of Riddermark (Lords of Moria)
August 24, 2012 at 4:50 pm
Grenorthil (my 3rd captain, on Riddermark, Ancients of Arnor) hit 16! my first character to really attempt Staddle/Midgewater since last year (think it was bad pulls in the goblin camp + the spider quest, also the atmosphere of a swamp)
(Gilvanbeam on Landroval is 27 (using 2-handers), Baracavorn is 18 on Crickhollow (not really caring) and Grenorthil will Sword and Board/Spear-Shield) feel like using HoH for all of them, but I’m considering tanking (quite rare for me)
I recently stopped burgling when I realised I can’t heal (PUGs), and I wanted to heal
reason why I loved minstrel and Rune-keeper
-Grenorthil Grakagash, Guard of the Isen
(with Grainorthel as his banner-wielder)
August 25, 2012 at 6:37 am
Grenorthil reached 19, got a spear and shield XD, and festivaled a bit (NEED that sun hat)
created Zeinaldo (champ) and U…(can’t remember, lol. is a guardian) on Riddermark (past sub bonuses and if I choose to unlock these char slots)
not sure if I will go Tanking or Healing with my captain, my brother’s captain (only one he uses, *may* use his Rune-Keeper eventually) is traited for damage
I’ll probably end up 3/2 with both

started grinding the anti-exploit cakes, only 168 tokens to go! :s

Lilyrose, minstrel of Gladden managed to kill enough stuff in the gap of Rohan to get Theodred’s riders to warm up to her a leetle bit, and loremaster Astarwen made it to level 44 and had a little walk with a certain hobbit.
Hopefully, she lightened his burden a little bit in preparation for the journey ahead.

This week, I took advantage of the “Welcome Back Weekend” XP buff (WBW buff) and made a fresh start on the Landroval server. Thanks to the XP buff, I was able to get 10 characters past level 10 before the WBW buff was turned off even though I had a 24 hour Internet outage over the weekend due to a burnt-out DSL modem. After the WBW buff was turned off, I still managed to get my my newly minted guardian, Dagasi to midway through level 19. BTW, the name means “terrapin” and is pronounced with all long vowels: Dah-gah-see.
So far my experience on Landroval has been nice. Even though I don’t really RP, I have been enjoying the higher level of engagement among the players as well as the lower proportion of immersion-breaking character names. Perhaps I’ll stay.

I’m two weeks late posting this, but I’m sure you’ll understand why in a bit.
On August 9th my 5th grandbaby hobbit (baby grandhobbit?) was born! She was born at home (second one born in this house in the last two years), but had some minor breathing problems, so she spent the next week in the hospital for some minor care and observation. The following Thursday she came home, so again I forgot to post here due to distraction! \o/
That Saturday we also celebrated the first grandchild’s birthday out on the Oregon coast. So, now that things have calmed down a bit I have the presence of mind to post it here!
Jonathalion of Brandywine
P.S. My Rune-keeper also made level 69.

I just finished the Shadows of Angmar books, what a sweaty time. I also got my first tier 3 legend weapon and 3 legend skill
