This week Goldenstar asks on behalf of herself and the Dums for advice on how to beat the final boss in Dark Delving that is giving us some problems.

Merric is taking his Captain through Mirkwood and was offered to be paid to help level someone through the Mirkwood intro quests.

Here is the latest news on events at Windy Acres Ranch.

Join us for the Rivendell Challenge on Wednesday, August 15 at 9:30pm server time (EST). Meet at the Forsaken Inn in the Lone-lands. The first event is a horse show, a mounted fashion contest. The audience will vote for the winners. The second event is a cross-country endurance horse race from the Lone-lands, through the Trollshaws, into Rivendell valley. The finale is a party at the Last Homely House in the Hall of Fire with music, fireworks and fun.

The first place winners of each event will receive 3 gold and a code for a 5th Anniversary cloak. Second place contestants will receive 2 gold, and third place contestants will receive 1 gold. Everyone who participates in the race will receive points in the Rider Standings. The top ranked riders will receive special prizes at the end of the season.

Only fifteen riders will be allowed to sign up for each event, so contact Kiralynn in game early on Wednesday. Participants should arrive at least 15 minutes before the event begins.

The standard Windy Acres Ranch Horse Racing and Horse Show rules apply, with two exceptions – goats will be permitted this race, and mounts of any speed may be used.

Daerechtel:

Hi Guys,

i would like to inform you of a topic, we as a kin, put up on the lotro forums.

It is a suggestion to Turbine / Developers. We would love to see the community respond to the suggestion and give feedback to it on the forums. Maybe with enough responses, turbine might think about it.

Topic is found here: http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.php?472151-Change-the-instances

Belwynne of Landroval:

Happy Birthday CSTM!

You are both to be congratulated on the dynamic community you’ve created…and thanked!  You add a human element to Middle Earth that is charming, enlightening, and fun.  Thank you!

And Merric – I have been following, at first with earnest support and now with awe, your stupendous weight loss progress.  Good job.  You don’t get to -90 without having made fundamental changes in how you make choices in life that will now never revert back.  Can you already play with baby Hobbit in ways you could not before?  I can’t imagine a more appropriate, motivating and inspiring, goal.  Good work.  Great job…seriously.

So…how are you going to celebrate -100 lbs?  At least a picture, please!

My english is awful so i didn’t understand wich boss you need help with, but i heard Dark Delvings… enought with that so…

The first boss in Dark Delving can be Duod at lvl 65 (i did it with a burg, i’m a guardian). Anyway what you want to do is… the guardian agro the boss and Kite him around the light to keep the battlefield stable. Then after that be sure you don’t get any more adds and when you are ready for DPS just hit the boss. As special notes, just interrupt the boss to avoid the knocbacks. (i dont remember if the knocbacks makes the inductions or not).

The second boss is… a bit harder. But you want interrupters, it’s all about that. You will start the fight in the complete darkness, then quickly run to the Left side light (if you dont start in the darkness he will destroy the light at the beggining) and kill the adds before the boss. The adds he spawn are ramdom but they give a buff to the boss, either of them will make him inmune to ranged, melee or tactical damage. Anyway kill the adds, get the battlefield stable, INTERRUPT every induction of the boss and each time he destroys a light just run to another as a group. but remember to keep interrupting because the boss loves to use inductions while we’r going to new light and won’t follow the group while that.

The final boss, Gurvand…. The strategy is pretty easy, tank in center with your back to one of the 4 stones. The tank must have his back to the opposite stone. The Most important there is to kill the adds before the boss, so… Range DPS the adds and if they get closer just dps them, but remember to stay in a good position to avoid knocbacks and die. (the knocbacks can be interrupted)

To add something to the first boss strategy, anyone can kite the first boss around a pedestal of light without getting any damage, it’s a creative way to Make time until all the people punted down can get to the upper platform again.

Thank you very much. It’s the third boss that we are having problems with. :)

The last boss really only has 3 things to watch for.

        1. Kill the adds immediately at the start and when they reappear later in the fight. Them getting on the healer and interrupting them, especially with the healer’s induction’s taking a lot longer, can kill you.

        2. Either interrupt the boss’s inductions (difficult since they are 2s or less; Addle will help some) or position yourselves so you don’t go off a ledge when he does punt people.

        3. The boss has a damage reflect shield that he puts up periodically. I don’t recall offhand if there is a graphical indication on him, but it is listed in his buffs. Don’t bother attacking while it’s up. I think it lasts 30s. As soon as it’s gone and there are no adds, burn him. At 75, you can easily one-shot yourself on this boss when that shield is up.

I know that my kinmates and I have already planned to do and leave unturned in the:
    GR dailies
    Galtrev dailies
    Isen dailies
    Pits of Iron dailies
    probably the moors quests too

in conjunction with an XP boost in order to hopefully gain a level right off the bat. We’re all endgame players. The sorry thing about the situation is there’s no instance-endgame to rush to…

    Info’s to the 3rd Boss

If you want to do Challenge Mode then you will have to do everything in the dark. Meaning that inductions will be alot longer, so be aware :)

The boss should be tanked off to one side, just choose one of the rune-pendestals. Either tank the boss with the back to the pendestal – or back to the wall. Reason are the knockbacks from the boss which will knock you off the plattform.

The boss does 2 important things. First – induction – knockback. If possible keep the boss interrupted in order to stop the knockbacks.
Secondly, the boss recieves a self buff “Bleeding Ears”. When this buff is on the boss – stop hitting him!! He reflects all damage at that point. Wait for the buff to go away and dps the boss again.

Rest of the group should be dealing with the adds when they come, just kill them off and then dps the boss – be aware of the self buff (see above) :)

Interrupts are the important element in the whole of Dark Delvings, you need to have at least 1 class that can interrupt alot. Since you don’t have a champion, a burglar or even guardian with boot/kick traited with low cooldown works.

    Have fun !
