Double Bonus Points Until August 19, 2012

August 17, 2012

LOTRO Store

Starting today until August 19, 2012 there is a sale on LOTRO Points bundle purchased in the LOTRO Store. They are doubling the bonus points on bundle packages. The larger the bundle you buy, the better the deal.

Here’s the break down of the approximate cost per 100 Turbine Points for each of the bundles.Values have been rounded to nearest penny.

  • $7.99 bundle: $1.14 for 100 Turbine Points
  • $19.99 bundle: $1.03 for 100 Turbine Points
  • $34.99 bundle: $0.85 for 100 Turbine Points
  • $59.99 bundle: $0.68 for 100 Turbine Points
  • $99.99 bundle: $0.63 for 100 Turbine Points
  • $199.99 bundle: $0.60 for 100 Turbine Points

I am guessing the $99.99 and $199.99 bundles are still available but are just not apart of this special. I am not able to login and take a look for myself although I’ll be interested to know if they are there or not. The fine print on the announcement post made it seem like only the bundles shown are available.

The two larger packages beats the cards you can buy in the retail store. If you were looking to stock up on some needed points, this is a good sale to catch.

33,500 points for $200?!?! Wow! (the interjection, not the game)

You could buy all the game content and still have a ton of TP left over.

I’m thinking that’s supposed to be the new equivalent of buying a lifetime account.

That’s very tempting for me since I could probably slide this by “the bookkeeper” (aka – Mrs. Vraeden) and she wouldn’t notice among all of the other charges I’m going to drop on our bank account when I go to Star Wars Celebration next week.

Nice to see that the $99.99 and $199.99 packages are part of this sale — I believe that’s a first.

With the expansion, I have no doubt that we’ll see a large number of new additions to the store in terms of buffs, items for War-steeds, new cosmetic sets, etc. This is definitely tempting.

The sweet spot seems to be the $59.99 bundle.

I had a glance at the points offers yesterday afternoon (UTC+2) and it struck me that I got redirected to the steam store (I pressed the ‘Add Points’ clicky in the ingame store).
I’m using the steam lotro client so no big surprise, but I didn’t know it had a separate store.
And in that store I could not find any double points bundles.
Does anyone else have the same experience or did I just look at the wrong place or time?
