Turbine just keeps on releasing new videos! This one, released this morning, appears to be a trailer featuring in-game footage of mounted combat coming in the Riders of Rohan expansion. The footage features a full fellowship engaging a warband out on the planes of Rohan!

It looked like there were a pair of axes attached to either end of its backside – doesn’t seem like it’d be the Steed of the Loremaster. Because it sounds like we’ll have decent customization of our War-steeds, it could be partly patchworked from a different “Steed of the [Class]” — or that cosmetic could be from a default War-steed design.

The video is very entertaining and will certainly peak the interest of fans.
But in it contains no factual information about mounted combat.
Turbine’s marketing of RoR is running at the pace they dictate and official information will only arrive when they decide.
It will be interesting to see what emerges through alternation sources.

Yes, is it definitely a teaser trailer and not informative of how mounted combat works. I thought the video with sapience and rowan yesterday was useful though.

So this is what the trailer team has been doing for the last year. I wish that this was the teaser trailer we saw back in June because it is how a teaser trailer should be. It had great music and cool shots of combat which really gets me excited to try mounted combat.

At 0:58, it looked like there was a little green glowing action going on – perhaps it was the hunter’s steed traited Rohirrim pulling off a little heal action?
It seemed that this was meant to be a action-packed frenzy battle against a warband, and I guess clips were selectively chosen to highlight the mounted attack animations as they whooshed across the screen. If they show more unedited footage of a warband, hopefully there might be a dedicated healer in there.
I’m loving this week, though – plenty of stuff slowly trickling out to satiate ad tantalize our appetites for more information.

Without a HUD and actual combat this is all just fluff. I’m still not convinced.

The only thing I don’t like about recently published mounted combat pictures and videos is that all combat steeds look like candy wrappers. I like bright colors, but these steeds look more like tropical butterflies, not horses.
Hope we’ll get more “warsteed-style” customization when RoR launches.
