This year we have a brand new festival that falls between the Spring and Summer festivals called the Farmer’s Faire. This year’s festival runs from July 26 – August 13, 2012.
The currency of this festival is the Farmer’s Faire Tokens. Collecting these can help you buy the goodies listed in the rewards section below. The festival takes place in Bywater in the Shire.
What is not included in this guide The festivals of Middle Earth include certain quests that appear with each and every festival. Please see our guide on these General Festival Quests for help with those events. This would include the:
Deeds
- At the Farmer’s Faire: Complete the tour and then three rounds each of the bounder bounds, revenge of the drunkards, fat mayor, manning the market and restocking the market. Grants 6 Farmers Faire Tokens.
- Helping Hand: Complete all eight of the “Restocking the Market” runs. Grants title: “Helping Hand”.
- Fine Faire Fishing: Complete Hired Hook once, Pond or Thief three times and Big Fish, Little Fish three times to earn this deed. Grants: 5 Farmers Faire Tokens
- Maggot’s Mushrooms Victories (Tier 1): Complete the mushroom hunt 5 times. Grants Title: “Novice Mushroom-hunter”.
- Maggot’s Mushrooms Victories (Tier 2): Complete the mushroom hunt event 20 times (total – your first 5 do count so 15 more). Grants title “Mushroom Muncher”.
- Egg Scramble Victories (Tier 1): Complete the egg scramble 5 times. Grants Title: “Novice Scrambler”.
- Egg Scramble Victories (Tier 2): Complete the egg scramble 20 times (your first 5 do count so 15 more). Grants title “The Eggsellent”.

- Egg Scramble: Collect Spotted Eggs: Obtain all 5 spotted eggs in the Egg Scramble. Grants: 10 Farmers Faire Tokens.
- Egg Scramble: Collect Striped Eggs: Obtain all 5 striped eggs in the Egg Scramble. Grants: 10 Farmers Faire Tokens.
- Egg Scramble: Collect the Golden Egg: Pick up the golden egg during the egg scramble. Grants: 10 Farmers Faire Tokens. (Note you get 50 tokens for using the golden egg)
- Full of Farmers Faire: Requires completion of A Helping Hand, At the Farmers Faire, Fine Faire Fishing, Sandson’s Egg Scramble tier 1, and Maggot’s Mushrooms Victories tier 1. Grants title: "Farmer-friend".
Bywater Quests
Invitation to the Farmer’s Faire
Quest Giver: Mail sent to character
Rewards: 3 Farmers Faire Tokens
Repeatable: No
You will receive an email shortly after logging in from the Party Planner inviting you to Bywater to participate in the faire. It will include an item that will start a quest called “An Invitation to the Farmer’s Faire”. It instructs you to travel to Bywater and speak with the Festival Announcer.
A Tour of the Farmers Faire
Quest Giver: Festival Announcer
Rewards: 3 Farmers Faire Tokens
Repeatable: No
The announcer will offer you a tour of the faire.
- Mayor Whitfoot
- Godo Bracegirdle at the Pond about the Fishing events
- Head back to the Festival Announcer
- Use the horse near the announcer to travel to Sandson’s Farm and speak with Wymarc Grubb about the Egg Scramble event
- Take the horse back to Bywater and choose the other horse to visit Bamfurlong
- Speak to Osbert Puddifoot about the Mushroom event.
- Take the horse back to finish the tour at the Festival Announcer
Bounder Rounds
Quest Giver: Bounder Boffin
Rewards: 4 Farmers Festival Tokens
Repeatable: Daily
This quest is similar to the Elf quest in Lothlorien. What you are looking for is Party Goers with misspelled words or slight mis-phrasing. Hobbits that do not excuse themselves when they burp are to be scolded as well.
Correctly scold seven Hobbits to complete the quest. You are allowed two bad guesses. On your second incorrect scolding the quest will fail. However, you can pick it right back up again.
Types of errors to look for:
- toes growing on hair (instead of hair growing on toes)
- pigs judge the local farmers (instead of farmers judging pigs)
- fresh-licked vegetables (instead of fresh-picked vegetables)
- a squirrel with (instead of quarrel with)
- “Bad Maggins” (instead of Mad Baggins)
- “slupper” (instead of supper)
- “muschroom” (instead of mushroom)
- “I burped. Ha ha ha!” (do not excuse themselves)
- I came all the day from Frogmorton to waste… (instead of all the way to taste)
This one appears to be difficult to complete with a crowd around. Only scold for incorrect text! Do not go scolding willy-nilly.
Revenge of the Drunkards
Quest Giver: Drunkard (near the Green Dragon Inn)
Rewards: 4 Farmers Faire Tokens
Repeatable: Daily
Pre-requisite: Bounder Rounds
Hit bounders with rotten vegetables 10 times (you are given an item for this). You have to do it without being seen by the bounders. You do not have to hit unique bounders with the rotten veggies. You can just hide in a bush and hit the same bounder over and over to complete this one.
Manning the Market
Quest Giver: Daisy Sandyman
Rewards: 4 Farmer Festival Tokens for each order completed
Repeatable: Daily
You are to help the overworked vendor fill as many orders as you can during your shift (15 minutes).
There are a line of Hobbits here who each have their own quest that grants 4 Farmer Festival Tokens each. You turn in the quests when complete to Daisy Sandyman for your tokens. The entire chain can be repeated daily.
- Fresh Savory Mushroom soup
Quite a bit of running around the festival area. First you find the recipe, then you read the recipe to find the ingredients, and then you cook the soup for the customer. - Apple-shopping
Search through the apple crates behind Daisy until you collected all the apples required. You can just vendor the trash wormy apples you pick up. - A Nosey Request
This person just wants you to find lazy vendors and get them back to work. One is inside the Green Dragon Inn, another is in the mushroom tent and the third can be found at the Methel Stage. - Shopping List
You are handed a list of specific items you are to pick up for this Hobbit. READ IT CAREFULLY. Hobbits can be tricksy. All items can be found in the Bywater festival area in the vendor stands around. - Market List
You are handed a list of specific items you are to pick up for this Hobbit. READ IT CAREFULLY. Hobbits can be tricksy. All items can be found in the Bywater festival area in the vendor stands around. - Vendor List
You are handed a list of specific items you are to pick up for this Hobbit. READ IT CAREFULLY. Hobbits can be tricksy. All items can be found in the Bywater festival area in the vendor stands around.
The good news is if the timer runs out while you are working on an order, you can complete the order and turn it in for your tokens afterwards. Basically you don’t fail it for the timer running out which was my concern when I saw the count down.
This gets easier. Next time I tried this I was able to complete all the quests in the allotted time gathering up a good bit of tokens!
Restocking the Market
Quest Giver: Sperling Took
Rewards: 4 Farmers Festival Tokens
Repeatable: Daily
This Hobbit is fretting over the supplies and asks you to run about and collect more items for the faire. The items are spread out across the farms of the Shire. You can ride your horse there (or you can use one of the handy quick travel horses near the festival announcer) but you’ll be carrying the item back.
Luckily you will have a speed boosting pie with you that will allow you to run at 68% speed (as fast as the fastest mounts). The cooldown of the pie lasts just as long as the buff so you can keep clicking it to continue at that speed.
There are 8 tasks in total for this quest. You will only be able to complete one of them a day and completing all will result in a deed (see deed section above).
Fat Mayor
Quest Giver: Wil Whitfoot
Rewards: 5 Farmers Faire Tokens
Repeatable: Daily
The mayor is very fond of this festival and takes full advantage of all the food available. He will stand still and eat and make comments on the dish. Across the way you’ll find a table of ingredients. Based on what he says, you are to bring the Mayor something to relieve him. Relieve him 6 times to complete the quest.
You are also allowed to bring 3 incorrect items before the quest is marked as failed. If failed, you can restart the quest again right away.
Bucket of Wine Requests:
- ‘’This was too fine a dish to be eaten without an accompaniment.
- ”Something tart will do nicely right now.”
- ”I must cleanse my palette.”
Bucket of Water Requests:
- ‘’All this eating is hard work — exercise, if you ask me. I need to replenish.”
- ”Nice and salty, but now my mouth is dry.”
- ”So…thirsty…”
Bucket of Milk Requests:
- ”Ack! Ss…spuh…spicy! Save me!”
- ”Ouch!! Too much pepper!”
- ”Dear me. It burns, it burns!!”
Butter Requests:
- ”This bread is too dry!”
- ”Hmm. Not quite rich enough, if you ask me.”
- ”It just needs a dab of something…”
Handful of Salt Requests:
- ”Bland, bland, bland.”
- ”It’s missing a little something…”
- ”Did Opal forget to season this?”
No Correct Choice:
- ”Adding to this dish would spoil its taste.”
- ”Mmm! Whoever made this is worthy of great admiration.”
- ”That was a passable meal, I suppose.”
- “Lovely, Lovely”
- “Crisp flavour, hearty, and a clean aftertaste!”
- “First sweet, then salty, then savoury – the flavours compliment each other well!”
- “That was a nice set of flavours”
Fishing Quests
Pond, or Thief?
Quest Giver: Goldie Tunnelly
Rewards: 68 xp
Repeatable: Daily
This Hobbit has confused the pond with a being that has maliciously stolen her possessions. You have to fish these five items up out of the pond for her.
During this quest, you may get a “you cannot take that” message. This means you have fished up an item already on the list (you can’t have two of them thus you cannot take it). This quest can get a bit frustrating as it’s all random what you will catch. I caught four of the five items right away and then spent a while trying to get the final item. Hang in there though. You will eventually catch them all. There is no failure to this quest.
You’ll have to do this quest at least 3 times if you want to complete the fishing deed (see deed section above), however it truly is a waste since all it rewards is some experience and you catch no fish to turn in for tokens.
Hired Hook
Quest Giver: Petunia Hornblower
Rewards: 4 Farmers Faire Tokens
Repeatable: Daily
Petunia asks you to go across the bridge and dig in the mounts of moist earth for worms. When you find one put in the bait bucket that is nearby. When you collect 5 worms, return to Petunia.
She will ask you to hook the bait for her. Run back to the bait bucket and click on it to bait the hook and return to Petunia.
Now she asks you to catch 5 suitable dinner fish in the pond.
Complete that task and she will next ask you to deliver the fish to Hal Hornblower in Hobbiton. Even the quest text is mocking this girl and her neediness at this point.
Hal can be found next to the stable-master in Hobbiton. He asks you to ask Petunia to let us be done helping her today.
Big Fish, Little Fish
Quest Giver: Bollo Bolger
Rewards: Fish to turn in for tokens
Repeatable: Daily
This quest is based on luck. You are tasked to catch big fish. Seven big fish to be exact.
Catching small fish will count against you. If you catch five small fish, you fail the quest. Failing the quest causes you to be locked out of trying again for an entire day. While the daily quests showed 3 hours until reset, this quest showed 23 hours. It was blocking access for a full day, not just until the daily quest reset.
Note that failure of this quest results in 24 hour cool down before you can pick it up again.
Your catches from this quest can be turned into Godo Bracegirdle for extra Farmers Faire Tokens. For me the extra fish went into my barter wallet, not my bags, because I own the premium wallet upgrade. If you do not, the fish will go in your regular inventory bags.
Fishy, Very Fishy
Quest Giver: Flobert Chubb
Rewards: Title “An Amazing Angler”
Repeatable: Daily
Another luck based fishing quest. You are tasked to catch fish in a series of difficulty. You will first be asked to catch easy fish, then simple fish then possible fish, tricky fish and finally unlikely fish.
If you are unlucky enough to fish up the bad fish, your luck is ruined for the day and you cannot continue.
Ticketed Events
Every day the Festival Announcer will give each character 3 festival tickets to use in one of two festival events. These tickets are not bound (at all – not even to account) so if you have a primary festival loving character, you can send your tickets to a single character to use. If you are lucky enough to have an alt-o-holic husband like I do, you can get a ton of tickets from his army of alts which was very helpful in testing out these events! With Update 7.3, these tickets are now bound to character.
If you want to continue to repeat these quest without waiting until the next day, you’ll have to buy another Ticket from the store (for 100 TP). It works a bit similarly to buying more picks during the Treasure-Hunt or Badges from the anniversary festival. You’re just buying a chance to play more of the following events and earn more Farmers Fair Tokens.
Something I did discover is that these are the same festival tickets that were used in the spring festival. I had several I had collected and had not used before the end of the spring festival and they are now useable in the Farmer’s Faire.
Folks have reported that using the “Directional Selection Indicator” trick we used in the Spring Festival to find flowers have helped them find both mushrooms and eggs. I personally have found the space too small for it to make much a difference but you are welcome to try this tip for yourself!
Maggot’s Mushroom Hunt
Quest Giver: Osbert Puddlefoot
Reward: 10 Farmers Faire Tokens
Repatable: Yes, each round
Up at Bamfurlong you’ll find Osbert Puddlefoot. In exchange for one festival ticket, you can play the mushroom hunt game. This game runs about every 3 minutes or so making it a very quick game to catch.
The mushroom hunt has some pretty simple rules
- Find and eat 8 mushrooms within the time limit (about a minute and a half)
- If you are spotted by one of the dogs you will fail the quest. (You do not need to be caught eating a mushroom. Just running by them will cause a failure) The dogs will appear as eye balls on your mini map.
- If you leave the corn field, you will fail the quest.
- Run speed boosts & emotes are not allowed on the corn field.
Finding and picking up mushrooms will typically grant at least a Farmers Faire Token but special mushrooms will grant two tokens (as well as some additional affects I’ll let you be surprised by).
Sandson’s Egg Scramble
Quest Giver: Wymarc Grubb
Reward: 10 Farmers Faire Tokens
Repeatable: Yes, every round
At Sandson’s Farm near Michel Delving there is an egg scramble going on in the chicken yard. The game lasts about 2.5 minutes and you are running about the yard trying to pick up 5 white eggs before the event ends.
You can fail if you leave the chicken yard area or if you do not pick up enough eggs before the event ends.
You will also find some special colored eggs, striped, spotted and even a golden egg good for deeds (see deed section above) and extra tokens. Watch out for the eggs with stink waves (like steam) coming off of it. They are bad eggs and will give you a drunk effect for a bit.
When the event is over, you can click on the eggs in your inventory and they will turn into Farmers Faire Tokens. The festive eggs can also be traded (or sold on the AH) with other players to help you complete the deeds by other methods.
Festival Mounts
This event operates the same way as all other festival horse races. If you are new to the festival horse races you can read our General Festival Guide for the run down on this event.
The race quest rewards one of the following: 1 Farmers Fair race token -or- 3 Farmers Faire Tokens. It is repeatable daily for both the Bree and Shire locations.
Farmers Fair Steed
62% Speed 200 Morale
- 2 Farmers Faire Race Tokens
- 1 Document of Mount Ownership
- 120 Farmers Fair Tokens
Rewards
Cosmetics
Photos of the items can be seen larger by clicking on them. To see how items dye, i suggest checking out Cosmetic LOTRO’s post!
Housing Items:
Mushroom Ring – 45 tokens |
Produce Stall – 45 tokens |
Small Mushroom Garden – 45 tokens |
Chicken Coop – 60 tokens |
Golden Egg – 45 tokens |
Golden Chicken Statue – 45 tokens |
Consumables:
- Piles of Mysterious Powder x5 – 6 tokens (used to make fireworks)
- Doom-shrooms x5 – 9 tokens
- Blueberry Tart Recipe – 15 tokens
Special thank you to Ketani for helping me collect information on quests I was not able to complete myself and for spending a bunch of her tokens on the housing items so we could show them all to you. Also thank you to Merric for having a babillion alts who gave me their tickets for research!

July 27, 2012 at 11:48 am
That chicken statue is swank.
LOL
July 27, 2012 at 12:03 pm
OMG now that I see what the Chicken Coop looks like, I HAVE to HAVE it now!! My horse can wait!!
Thanks for another great Festival Guide Goldenstar (and Ketani!), you guys are awesome. Too bad there are so many bugs still that prevent players from completing the quest lines and deeds. I feel bad for “Budgeford” who put so much thought and hard work into this, I hope she’s not discouraged and polishes this up for next year because it’s a great new festival!
July 27, 2012 at 12:17 pm
Fantastic job on the Guide
Thanks so much. I missed a few things… and some I agree are a waste of time.. LOL Though I want 2 things.. chicken statue and the golden egg for my house!
July 27, 2012 at 12:19 pm
Concerning the fat mayor:
‘’All this eating is hard work — exercise, if you ask me. I need to replenish.”
I tried the bucket of water, but it was the wrong choice.
July 27, 2012 at 12:21 pm
Quick note: As best I can tell Fishy, Very Fishy is the only one on a TRUE 24hr CD. The other 24hr CDS are the standard daily quest timer resets.
I do hope there aren’t a number of different hidden deeds associated with this quest.
July 27, 2012 at 12:30 pm
I had Ketani double check this and she reported they were both 24 hour. I can triple check later though.
July 27, 2012 at 12:38 pm
It reports a 19hr CD, while everything else reported the 17hr CD. It was only obvious because I had failed to properly turn in the quest for the busy-body hobbit (who needs you to do all the things for dinner), and so I didnt turn it in and have the quest become available again for me until hours later.
I did think this was rather odd.
The guide is excellent, and really helpful for those of us struggling to satisfy the mayor’s appetites as well as see if we want to do T1/T2 of the various ticketed events.
July 27, 2012 at 1:11 pm
You may be right but I don’t change my guide on a whim. I will verify myself later and correct if necessary.
July 27, 2012 at 1:13 pm
As far as I can tell, the quests Big Fish, Little Fish and Fishy, Very Fishy are both on 24 hour cool downs. I haven’t done either of them since the daily quest reset early this am, and yet they are both on cooldown still with the timer ending approximately 24h from when I did them yesterday.
July 27, 2012 at 1:24 pm
Nor would I expect you to. It’s possible that I have a bug, or its an issue that they’ll fix in a patch if they tweak the drunken hobbits. Just pointing out something I noticed, I hope I didn’t come across as unappreciative of all the hard work you do putting these guides together! Enjoy your festivaling. Trying to get the golden egg so I can find out if there’s a deed associated with all 5 egg deeds or not for you
July 27, 2012 at 1:40 pm
I may be wrong but it seems to depend on whether you completed the quest successfully or failed it. I failed and succeeded on several alts they all seem to have different timers for the same quest even though they did it around the same time. I’m not being very helpful as I don’t keep a strict record of such things, but it was just something I thought was odd, some characters being able to pick up the quest again this morning and other characters being on a long cd for that same quest.
July 27, 2012 at 1:42 pm
For me, all the quests reset at 9am CET, other than “Fishy, Very Fishy” which I failed, that one had a full 24H reset timer.
July 27, 2012 at 2:12 pm
Hmm. Well I know in my case that I failed both quests. So maybe if you are able to complete it you get the shorter cooldown? That seems so backwards!
July 27, 2012 at 2:57 pm
I failed both quests as well so we went with what we knew. But I agree a shorter downtime for passing is a bit silly of an idea.
July 27, 2012 at 11:04 pm
Perhaps a shorter timer is a reward for winning?
July 29, 2012 at 11:13 pm
For what it’s worth, I failed “Fishy, very Fishy” and Flobert Chubb said something along the lines of “Your luck will be bad for 24 hours, so don’t come back until then”. (Not exact quote).
At this time, I have a 22hr CD for Fishy, very Fishy.
I completed the rest of the quests and they are at a 3 hr CD.
I’ll try the quests on another alt and see if I can get a screen shot.
July 27, 2012 at 12:24 pm
I was unable to complete the market quests yesterday but I guess I’ll keep trying. The one thing that made me crazy was the meat stall… I swear I ran all around the place and wasn’t able to see it!! Where is it?
Thank you guys for the excelent work, as usual!! What would we do without your event guides?
July 27, 2012 at 12:29 pm
It’s a table to the left of the bread, (the rack in the back is used for the stew quest)
July 27, 2012 at 11:05 pm
Make sure you read the descriptions as you hover over items to be sure you get the correct cheese, bread, etc. Also be sure to read the descriptions on the lists as not all items on the list are to be collected.
July 27, 2012 at 12:30 pm
Awesome guide as always! Too bad that the actual quests vary so much in terms of frustration/randomness. I hope it all smooths out once the initial rush is over…
July 27, 2012 at 12:35 pm
I think you also get 5TP after completing the Helping Hand deed. At least my deed tracker shows one does. Also LOTRO Wiki : http://lotro-wiki.com/index.php/Helping_Hand
July 27, 2012 at 1:10 pm
Thank you so much, Goldenstar and Ketani. The CSTM guides to the events are a touchstone for everyone that plays this game, and it is so very appreciated.
(tips helm)
July 27, 2012 at 1:13 pm
re: Fresh Savory Mushroom soup quest
I’m almost 100% sure that you have to gather the items on the list in the order they are listed. Will double-check on that today when my timers expire.
The other “gather items on the list quests” are not restricted in this way.
July 27, 2012 at 1:14 pm
Yes. They items will appear and glow as you find them “next on the list”
July 27, 2012 at 1:15 pm
That is true. The soup items have to be gathered in order AND the items won’t be lit up until you get close to them (unlike the other items that will glow regardless of how close you are).
July 29, 2012 at 11:21 pm
Yes, this was a little frustrating as I tried to run to the meat table first, as I knew where it was from a previous quest and tried to go out of order.
July 27, 2012 at 1:27 pm
Thank you SO much for the guide! You’re really awesome, Goldenstar (and thanks to Ketani as well!)
It’s a pity this festival doesn’t have an ‘infinitely’ repeatable quest like Stomping Shrews, Beer Brawl or Eating Contest in Frostbluff… Only repeatables are for tickets and this is not a good idea as you have to compete with other people.
But your guide is great nonetheless! Thanks for takin time to make it. I hope you had fun!
July 27, 2012 at 2:17 pm
See my comment below. I have gotten about 100 tokens in a single fishing session (granted, spending over half an hour doing it…)
July 27, 2012 at 2:18 pm
Oh, just read it. Thanks a lot! I might try it when I get time (I failed and I can do it again at 11 pm… Not sure I want to say up till midnight
)
July 27, 2012 at 1:33 pm
Can anyone confirm that you can do the Inn League runs and earn Farmer’s Faire tokens? I’ll do the faire, but sometimes it’s more relaxing to do the Inn League delivery run than it is to fight for spawns with everyone else.
July 27, 2012 at 2:14 pm
I haven’t checked personally, but I did notice a comment on the forums complaining that the FF tokens had NOT been added to the IL barterer.
July 27, 2012 at 2:54 pm
The Inn League runs reward Badges of Taste. They do this every festival. There typically is a way to barter them for festival tokens but it sounds like that is not available.
July 31, 2012 at 1:30 pm
Usually the Inn League Badges of Taste are able to be bartered for tokens, but this festival they cannot be, probably because of the fact that you can get tokens so easily. A win at the mushroom hunt rewards an average of 30 tokens, the most efficient way.
July 27, 2012 at 1:43 pm
thanks for the tips, it will help alot. great job!
July 27, 2012 at 2:15 pm
With both the Big Fish, Little Fish and Fishy, Very Fishy quests, you can continue to catch barter fish after either completing OR failing the quest. However, going near the questgiver/barterer may cancel your ability to catch more of the special fish. (If the quest was completed rather than failed, maybe it has to be turned in to stop the effect, but I haven’t tested this.)
July 27, 2012 at 2:58 pm
You are correct, I noticed this too. As long as I stay in place and don’t move after the quest completes, I can fish for a while longer, however it’s not indefinitely. Perhaps there’s a timer on it as well or a maximum amount of fishes.
July 27, 2012 at 11:06 pm
You also seem to need to walk away from the pond and back in order to move on to catching the next type of fish in Fishy, Very Fishy.
July 28, 2012 at 12:55 am
Being able to continue to fish up barter fish is actually a bug that dates back to the first time they introduced the Festival fishing quests. Those quests were all on timers and the “endless barter fish” bug allowed you to continue to fish up the quest fishes if you stayed in the same spot and didn’t move. This was fixed during the next seasonal fishing events. It’s kind of surprising they reintroduced this bug. They must be using the original code snipets from the original quests and changing them to “fish up x of y” quests.
The “Easy Fish” quest does seem to need some help advancing as others have mentioned. Even though, the quest advances in your log, if you don’t move from that spot, you continue to catch fish from the first tier of the quest.
July 31, 2012 at 1:38 pm
It’s my experience with the Easy Fish quest that it’ll last hours and hours until you move. I’ve been fishing for about 2,5 hours after I had finished the first tier (never did the fish quests, I think, with earlier festivals) and I keep catching easy fish with the occasional bad fish.
July 29, 2012 at 11:25 pm
Question, if you complete “Fishy, very Fishy”, then continue fishing, and catch a bad fish, will you fail the quest? Or complete because you already completed it? I just don’t want to fail if I keep fishing.
July 31, 2012 at 1:40 pm
You won’t fail if you’ve already completed the quest without turning it in. I had completed it without even noticing it. I thought I had caught one too many Puny Fish when I noticed in the quest tracker I had actually already completed the quest.
July 27, 2012 at 2:24 pm
Just a note: there are 5 items to fish up in the “Pond, or Thief” quest. They are:
1) The List of Lost Things.
2) a Chair.
3) a Hat.
4) a Teacup.
5) Spectacles.
July 27, 2012 at 2:49 pm
I really didn’t need an itemized list. But thanks.
July 27, 2012 at 2:43 pm
It’s more than just 3 Hobbits that need to be scolded, it’s 7.
July 27, 2012 at 2:50 pm
Thanks
July 27, 2012 at 3:14 pm
Just want to thank you so much for all the work and effort you put into your guides. They’re my “go-to” for festivals, and pretty much everything else LOTRO related. I searched google for a picture of some of the housing items but you’re the only one that seems to show everything. You’re bookmarked. =)
July 27, 2012 at 3:20 pm
I do not have the option of doing the drunkards revenge, there is no quest icon over the drunkard by the green dragon inn door. Is that the correct quest giver? So far on diff servers and accts there has not been the option of doing this. I must be looking in the wrong spot?
Is there a prerequisite for the q?
July 27, 2012 at 3:32 pm
You have to have done the Bounders Rounds quest (scolding the drunk hobbits) before the Drunkards Revenge quest is available.
July 27, 2012 at 3:37 pm
Yup the guide shows the Bounders Rounds as a pre-req
July 27, 2012 at 8:27 pm
thank you, I missed it when I scanned it earlier.
July 27, 2012 at 3:37 pm
Another awesome guide as always from Casual Stroll to Mordor. Thank you Goldenstar & Ketani

Just a couple of quick tips for the mushroom hunt: If you bind “Select Nearest Item” and “Use” to easy keys, you can run up to a mushroom, and quickly tap both keys to pick up a mushroom (alternatively, you can also use the “Directional Selection Indicator” in Combat options to point to the nearest mushroom, although the corn may make it difficult to see the red dots).
So far, my best is 27 tokens in a single run…I’m sure I can do better if I can keep stealthy enough. It’s a pretty fun event, and have not had many others out when I am out doing it.

I use a macro on my keyboard for gathering ores or wood that combines nearest object with use.
If you want to be really lazy an option I sometimes use to find the hidden targets is a quick /follow command

There’s an additional deed that opens up once you complete any of the requirements: Full of Farmers Faire. Requires completion of A Helping Hand, At the Farmers Faire, Fine Faire Fishing, Sandson’s Egg Scramble tier 1, and Maggot’s Mushrooms Victories tier 1. It rewards the title “Farmer-friend.”
July 27, 2012 at 5:41 pm
I can confirm this deed.
July 27, 2012 at 5:25 pm
Another Bounder Rounds mistake is they will say had “a squirrel with” instead of had “a quarrel with” concerneing the Gaffer’s taters. Got that one several times this morning.
July 28, 2012 at 11:49 am
You’ve actually seen errors in the party-goer sayings? I’m amazed! I haven’t seen any.
July 28, 2012 at 6:36 pm
Day 1 no, but yesterday I managed to log on early in the morning when there were relatively few people on. I did not, however, manage to finish it before people showed up and started clicking willy-nilly on sober hobbits. I got about halfway done before all the drunk messages went bye-bye for at least an hour, when I gave up waiting any longer. Last night I did eventually finish it using this method – hop one of the horses to egg scramble/mushrooms and then come right back. If you’re lucky, you’ll get a fresh layer with fewer people and there will still be some drunk hobbits around.
July 29, 2012 at 4:54 pm
For “Bounder Rounds”, I can confirm that scolding the elves in Lothlorien at nights works for this quest, instead of waiting around on the hobbits.
July 27, 2012 at 6:12 pm
Like the house stuff. The mushroom ring would be super awesome if a limrafn floated around in it, kind of like a fairy’s ring.
July 27, 2012 at 6:26 pm
As always a very helpful guide.
Was mainly interested in the Horsie and happy that this one is miles above the “mauve” from the last Festival. Also a 200HP, awesome.
Those prices are a bit steep, though.
Are those tokens really rolling in that quick or did they “upgrade” the grind quite a bit for this one?
July 27, 2012 at 7:47 pm
Yes. Tokens really do roll in very quickly.
July 27, 2012 at 6:31 pm
the bounders quest (to scold drunks) doesn’t care about what RACE the drunks are. after waiting for over an hour looking for hobbits — i wondered if scolding drunk elves would work. it does!
July 28, 2012 at 5:29 am
Huhwhat? You can go to Lothlorien and scold the elves for this quest?
I hope this is true because this seems impossible to complete at the Farmer’s Faire. I have yet to see ONE off remark. Every time someone scolds a hobbit it resets the cycle I guess, so peopel are scolding wrong hobbits all the time, and you never see the drunk ones.
Off ot Lothlorien I go…
July 28, 2012 at 3:26 pm
Yes – going to Lothlorien works perfectly, of course, you still have to wait for night to fall there. You can even re-run the drunken revelers quest daily at the same time.
July 28, 2012 at 7:13 pm
Yep, this one was annoying me too because I was waiting for about 15 minutes for a hobbit to say the ‘wrong’ thing with no luck, and someone suggested the elves and it worked.
July 30, 2012 at 9:16 am
It’s unfortunate for the poepel who are too low level to get there though, but you no longer need rep from what I understand so it might be doable for anyone who can find a ride into Lothlorien.
July 29, 2012 at 6:12 pm
Brilliant! Thank you for this tip!
July 27, 2012 at 6:35 pm
What?? No Emotes?? *sob*
July 28, 2012 at 4:01 am
Thanks guys!!!
“For me the extra fish went into my barter wallet, not my bags, but I’m not certain if that is because I paid for the premium wallet upgrade.”
I didn’t buy the upgrade and the fish appear in my regular bag.
July 28, 2012 at 5:31 am
More eggs spawning in that game would be nice. I found that the only way you can get 5 eggs within the allotted time is if you’re alone, and MAYBE if there’s one other person, and you’re quicker.
July 29, 2012 at 2:58 am
The fishing quests are all bugged. I didn’t find an end to how many fishes I could catch as long as I didn’t move (not even to change camera angles which did end my second run in ‘fishy, very fishy’) after 3 hours of fishin I had over 900 farmers faire tokens (those wallets are the best TP spent EVER). We would need what 1300 to get one of everything including a horse? That bug basically beats any grindy nature to the fest, outside of the quest completion requirement for deeds/titles. Also as to there not being a exchange on the Inn League/Ale Assoc. badges for the faire tokens, there isn’t any for the anniversary festival either. Now I understand that those don’t run during the anniversary fest, but to me its just another special event not covered by ‘delivering’ your way through. At this time you need tokens for your swag, go fishin and don’t move till your done/out of bag space.
July 29, 2012 at 5:14 am
120 tokens for the steed, that’s a bit steep! In the anniversary event it was 40 token for the new steed.
July 29, 2012 at 6:13 am
Actually, it takes less time to gather 120 tokens, than it did to gather 40 in the anniversary, you can easily make 60+ tokens a day… even more if you run your alts to the fest and gather the 3 tickets the announcer gives you, and then send them to you main
July 29, 2012 at 7:39 am
Wow, another excellent festival guide and in record time. Thank you; you are amazing.
July 29, 2012 at 10:50 am
test
July 29, 2012 at 10:52 am
sorry about the test lol – kept getting an AVH cheating message whatever that was.
Now my question is has anyone managed to get the deed for the red orange blue green and purple eggs? I have all of these – but no deed – anyone had this problem or am I missing something simple lol
July 29, 2012 at 11:02 am
no problem found out I need to use them to collect them – knew it was simple lol
July 30, 2012 at 12:14 pm
Now I can finally finish the Stew quest! I looked all over the place for the meat but didn’t know you had to be close. That was really frustrating…Thanks Goldenstar & Ketani!
July 30, 2012 at 5:11 pm
i just did all the egg deeds and sadly i dont see a hidden one, just the semi hidden one for the gold egg
(
July 31, 2012 at 6:16 am
Has anyone actually seen a golden egg yet lol?
July 31, 2012 at 6:18 am
I have (that’s how I got it in the guide)
July 31, 2012 at 7:06 am
thx – will go look see !
July 31, 2012 at 1:40 pm
Absolutely awesome guide as always friend Goldenstar!
However, I figured I would repeat the previous, have you actually seen a Golden Egg for the deed? …Not the housing item as shown in the guide. As best we can tell, there has been only one semi-confirmed sighting on our server thusfar for the first 6 days of festival. Rumors from the lotro-wiki and others include (a) 50 tokens awarded for the golden, (b) egg is bound, (c) must have completed all of the other egg deeds… and my own theory that a packed egg hunt might be the only time it has a chance to drop.
Has anyone reading this actually obtained a Golden Egg for deed?
July 31, 2012 at 3:41 pm
OK! “Pictures or it didn’t happen…”
On the forum, I found a proof that it exists.
http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.php?471024-Farmer-s-Faire-Egg-Scramble
Bound? Yes
Tokens awarded? 50 + 10 for the deed
Prereqs? None (no other deeds must be done)
I haven’t confirmed how many people were in the round for any win, or if it is just absolutely completely random.
July 31, 2012 at 5:01 pm
I got the golden egg on my second round. It is not required to have the other deeds done. I didn’t even know it was a golden egg. I was still learning the festival and literally went EGG! and picked it up without looking.
August 1, 2012 at 2:51 am
hehehe – you got any Irish blood in you Goldenstar? “Luck of the Irish” – if not just rub my name for me will you and see if any rubs out on me
August 1, 2012 at 3:59 am
Congratulations, GoldenEggstar! Mebbe it was name recognition calling to you… if it were a Dana Egg, I would be rockin this.
(BTW: After chatting with 2 winners, the only 2 known in Arkenstone, it does seem completely random drop, not dependent on group size or any other factor.)
July 31, 2012 at 11:51 am
The scolding quest is just a huge pain… I’m going to try the Lothlorien one for that.
I have yet to see a single hobbit mess up anything, regardless of how many of us are around. Most people seem to scold the wrong ones too from what I’ve seen.
August 1, 2012 at 2:51 am
me too – not see 1 drunken hobbit – which actually is amazing as they love their vittles!!
August 1, 2012 at 10:27 am
Thanks for the guide but I have a funny story to tell.
I was doing the egg hunt and trying to get all the colored eggs for the deed. I then saw that a hobbit was selling the full set. I hit him up and asked how much it would cost. I get a reply and it says 2 Gold. I immediately said sorry and walked off but was that REALLY a reasonable price. Thoughts?
August 1, 2012 at 10:51 am
That seems like an absolutely rock bottom price deal to me!
August 1, 2012 at 5:30 pm
On Elendilmir, I’ve sold single striped eggs for around 6g each. So a full set (assuming it wasn’t just the plain colored red, orange, blue, green, and purple eggs–if that’s the case it’s just barely a reasonable deal.) for 2g would be a great price. Of course, this is going to vary wildly by server, so I’d check the AH to see what those are going for, too.
August 7, 2012 at 12:15 am
The festival tickets were NOT mailable for me, much to my disappointment. They were bound just like the tokens. I guess I have to wait for the quest cooldowns to be able to get my chicken coop and small mushroom ring.
August 7, 2012 at 6:04 am
Yesterday’s patch changed the tickets to be bound to character.
August 7, 2012 at 12:28 am
Love these guides!
Those masks, in the other hand…:P
August 7, 2012 at 1:24 am
You may want to add that as of yesterday’s update, the festival tickets are now bind on aquire, so no more collecting spare tickets off unplayed alts.
August 8, 2012 at 5:11 am
it was nice whilst it lasted lol
August 9, 2012 at 2:05 pm
Hi,
Does anybody have an idea when has the golden egg a higher droprate?
For example when there are more people, or we running around like hell
