Turbine has announced the launch date for The Riders of Rohan expansion in a press release today. Clear your calendars for September 5, 2012!
“Riders of Rohan is our biggest expansion yet, and raises the bar technically and artistically much like Mines of Moria did in 2008. We’re introducing the largest area we’ve ever built and a combat system unlike anything that has been built before in MMOs,” said Kate Paiz, Executive Producer of The Lord of the Rings Online, Turbine. “We’re excited for players to be able to continue the epic story as players immerse themselves in Rohirrim culture and support King Théoden himself as they strive to keep the eyes of Mordor distracted from the Ringbearer’s task.”
Pre-ordering of this expansion is available until September 5th.

Cool, looks like that means the pre-order window runs all the way up to launch. I think all along the pre-order site said you can order between now and 9/5/2012/

any info from e3 yet as all games had some info out already but lotro still not.
also noticed on the http://www.e3insider.com site that in the warner bros booth lotro isnt even mentioned :s

Launch and pre-order information wasn’t enough?
I believe Turbine is there and only doing press interviews at E3. I don’t know if they are actually manning a booth. We may still get some information or interviews from some of the big game media sites but I think the big announcements may be done.
But I could be wrong

20. How much will Riders of Rohan be in the LOTRO Store? Can I buy parts of the expansion pack separately?
Yes, you can purchase portions of the expansion separately with your Turbine Points in the LOTRO Store. These items will be released in the LOTRO Store on the same day as the expansion, September 5th. The prices are as follows:
Rohan Expansion Content: 4295 TP
Expansion Content includes the quests in the Rohan region.
Rohirrim Skinned Soldier on Landscape: 295 TP
6th Inventory Bag (Account-wide): 995 TP
Crystal of Remembrance: 995 TP
The Outriders Token: 495 TP

I hope after all of this they make some comment about instances/raids. This is still the biggest unknown and it’s going to affect a lot of my friends’ decisions on what to do with this game… It just seems like such an obvious thing to include in the expansion, I’m not sure why they’d not mention it at all.
Which makes me fear the worst there, but who knows. I just hope they make a real comment on it instead of ignoring the question.
