Player Achievements

Each week we ask you to share your successes in Middle Earth with the rest of the community. Post a comment letting us know what you’ve accomplished this past week. We will pick comments at random to read on the podcast giving you a chance for a little shout out for yourself! Our shout-outs are only as good as the information we get so remember:

  • Don’t forget to add your character name, what server you play on and, if you like, add your Kinship if you have one.
  • Please keep your posts brief. We won’t be able to read full novels of your adventures. At least make it so we can easily sum it up!
  • Do not be afraid to post any of your achievements. We don’t care if you just saved Archet or cleared out the Tower of Orthanc. We want to hear from you!

These shout outs will appear in tomorrow’s recording of A Casual Stroll to Mordor Podcast. You are welcome to join us live at 9:30pm Eastern on Saturday!

First time joining us live? See our post on how to join CSTM’s live broadcast.

Comments for this thread will be closed after recording as this is a weekly thing. If you missed this week’s cut off, don’t fret! A new thread just like this one will appear next Friday.

Fortunis of the Salt and Light kinship on Elendilmir hit 60 on Thursday. He is a hobbit burglar and a tinkerer who is now all through the epic quest line up to the beginnings of Mirkwood. It is only my third character above level 25 and I hope in a month or so to have my third level 75 character. I might have to slow down a touch, though, and work on some deeds and virtues.

Smuso hit lvl 45 without ANY legendary traits! still trying to get Javelin of Deadly Force, 2 scary and 1 frosty page left. almost got enough marks to swap to a herbalist soldier (so I can run Icy Crevasse for the pages (need in-combat power and health for the boss battle))…may swap back to archer once I get Dark Before the Dawn (peeling targets off me while I use leeches*)

been creeping on Riddermark mostly, got another KB and bought Toxin on my Weaver (commendations). occasionally get great battles on Riddermark

*Hmm, I should try traiting shield if I’m going to play like this

    -Smuso, Ridge-Racer

and I realised that the TonicBars plugin doesn’t hide its icon for screenshots :/ (main reason for using Smuso, don’t need it)

My burglar, Fletra, finally reached level 75 and got to run her first Isengard instance, Fangorn’s Edge. Was pretty confused on what I was doing during the instance but we completed it and had a blast. She is now busy working on maxing out her tailoring so she can craft herself some better gear. So much to do and I am really excited to do it all. =)

    Dear Baby Hobbit,

Hi. I’ve been a listener of The Baby Hobbit Show (with Special Guests Merric and Goldenstar) for a few weeks now. I love the show, as it helps me keep up to date with all things LOTRO without having to sift through forum posts and websites. It’s awesome! Keep up the good work. I especially like how your mom is into emotes and cosmetics as much as I am.

Anyhow, on to my achievement. I’ve finally set out to continue my epic quest! By the time you have your mom read this to your audience, I will be across the sea in Ireland. On the 4th of July I will be marrying my fiancée, who I first met in LOTRO. She was an adorable Hobbit, I was a charming warden, and we had both met our match. What started off as quick chats blossomed into a beautiful friendship. For the past three years we have been inseparable and time has flown by faster than I could imagine… But you know what they say about time when you’re having fun. She is the love of my life, the most gorgeous woman in the universe and about to make me the luckiest man that will ever live.

Wish us luck on our next great adventure!

    With love,

    Anonymous Warden

Greetings. It’s been a very busy week. I now have 3 at lvl 75, and my Warden, Koffee, and 2 others are World Reknown. She’s working on the Horse session plays along with my lvl 40 Champ Eorohir, my LM Gandast, my RK Fiorwyn – all over on Elendilmir and in Pathfinders (a great Kinship).

I felt like I was missing out on all the events in Landroval, so I created a Warden, Elryyk Whitewolf, there and he’s already 25 and he was invited into an incredibly warm and friendly (and helpful) kinship called Northern Lights so a shout out to them with thanks. Elryyk is dealing with the Munce brothers right now and doing Horse session play. I discovered this morning that different servers may offer different Horse SPs. Interesting.

Thank you, Goldenstar & Merric, for this fabulous site and your wonderful and informative and often funny podcasts.

Mine is slightly more intangible then most others but it felt like an achievement none the less. Today I cared. As my 73 warden was slogging his way through the swampy muck that is the Dunbog. he realized he cared, he wasn’t just questing for reputation, or experience, the quests granted him no items of any value….He just….wanted to help these people, he WANTED to earn their trust, he wanted to lead them into war and see them home safe again.

My main, Tolarthor, a guardian, hit 35 on gladden this week.
My real achievement though is that with 5 alts and my first play anniversary approaching, I’ve finally realized that 1) I’m hopelessly addicted 2) there’s way too much to do to allow my game time to be ruled by my grind ocd’s :)
With head sorted out I’ve finally learnt to sit back and enjoy this great game as it unfolds.
Thanks CSTM for all that you do – you’re gems!

Ahh, what a week. Monday, I got my Hunter to 45, finishing my alt project to get all my alts into 5-level gaps (75, 70, 65, 60, 55, 50, 45). Just in time, as Tuesday I started my new job, back to work after 6 months of searching! It’ll cut down on LOTRO time, but this is probably a good thing.

Also, got to take place in the ROR Preview discussion thanks to the perfect scheduling on Sunday night. Had a good time and can’t wait to hear the result

  12. Winterwolf Says:

Ah Achivements, hmmmmm… Well I’m a casual player so Winterwolf, my main Elf Hunter on Imladris, only just reached level 39 yesterday so that’s not much to speak of.
But for Achivements I think just reaching Rivendel was a big one for me. I’ve always loved the place and it was amazing to see how beautiful it is Ingame. Someone wise once said its not the destination that matters, but the journey. We may be casualy strolling to mordor, but it’s the places we see and visit on the way that count, be it Rivendel, Rohan, Weathertop or just Bree.
Also I think annother big achievement was convincing my girlfriend to play LOTRO. :D She was always into Lord Of The Rings, but now she loves LOTRO as well :)
Also I’m an officer in the Guard Of The Citadel, a fantastic roleplaying kinship on Imladris. If anyone is interested in joining or just saying hello send us an email at guardofthecitadel.lotro@gmail.com or sign our guestbook at gotclotr.webs.com

      Totally agree about sight-seeing.

I’m up to lvl 17 after ten or eleven days play but the biggest thrill has been finding, and drinking at, The Prancing Pony. Awesome.

Over the last several weeks Sideredis the Minstrel (AKA Merrydew) and Ercenbrand the Guardian have been working all the deeds for their virtues in Eriador. We know have all primary, secondary, and even tertiary virtues finished and are ready for Moria. Along the way we have duoed (on level) the Leader of the Foul Wood quest and killed Torhammas with adds!

Grinding deeds has stretched my sanity to nearly breaking point! GAH! There has got to be a revamp of this mess! The only grind I did not get done are the healing skill deeds, I stayed in war speech nearly the entire time so now in Moria I switch to heal mode and start another grind… *whimper*

My main, Lhinnthel a Landroval elf hunter, finally decided to buckle down and just chose an area to quest in rather than the aimless wandering she has been doing. I had forgotten how beautiful Lake Evendim was! She dinged 35 shortly after arriving and is well on her way to earning enough reputation to purchase a new steed. Lhinnthel’s favorite achievement of the week was when she joined a Windy Acres Ranch Riding Formation Team! She received an attractive new uniform and is excited to learn new maneuvers at weekly practice sessions!

My captain and jeweller got kindred with the lossoth and to celebrate I crafted up 20 odd tundra cub talismans and have been trying to gift them away to the newer LM’s with a hunt the hobbit. About a 3rd so far have been taken so far and I’m happy to say none seem to have found their way to the AH.

After taking a 6 month break to play SWTOR I’ve started playing LOTRO again part time, largely due to your pod cast jump starting my love for the game again, and I finally finished Volume I with my Dwarven main, Grithur Greatbeard of Durin’s Folk, Meneldor server. I’m currently trying to work my way thru Mirkwood and have started the level climb from 65 to 75. It’s going to be a great trip!

What a fun week in Laurelin! My lm Calenistui (lvl 52) earned her eagle *and* has only died several times so far in Moria! hehe I am really enjoying my second time through there– I just shuddered and ran as fast as I could on my main, rk Silfaer (75) before the revamp. I managed to get Silfaer’s bio story trimmed enough to fit in the window– I had a great time nerding out on it! And all three of my chars finished the Descendant legendary trait quests. I love the new title “Destined for Rohan” (is that right?) for my mini Tuilind (22), because she is ‘from’ Rohan– but now I have the dilemma of whether to level her up a lot faster than I would have to be ready to go there in September!
