MichCon 2012: June 22-23

June 15, 2012

Events, Outside LOTRO

michicon-2012-450x900Many of you already know that Merric and I are Michiganders (well ok Merric is a Texas transplant but we’ve pretty much accepted him at this point).

As such we thought it may be relevant to some of our fellow Michiganians that there is a gamer con happening in Rochester!

Hosted at Oakland University you’ll find all kinds of fun gaming events: board games, collectable card games, miniature games, role-playing games and many other games at our tables.

We have never attended this convention ourselves, Merric loves miniature and card games and we thought we’d pass this information on.

MichiCon 2012 happens Friday, June 22nd, 2PM-11PM and Saturday, June23rd, 8AM-11PM at the Oakland Center, Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan.

MichiCon 2012 features door prizes, raffles, and a great selection of prize opportunities. Event participants get drawing tickets, with event winners getting additional drawing chances for prizes.

Attendees should plan to bring snacks and beverages. Numerous restaurants are available nearby including the Oakland Center Subway.

Hope I can get out there to play a little bit – unfortunately won’t be running any miniature games out there this time.

OU is only 10 miles or so from my house, but my daughter is getting married that weekend and she probably would not appreciate me skipping her rehearsal and ceremony for this :) . Maybe next year.

Well darn. I’d go, but that’s my weekend to work here. So instead of playing games, I’ll have to settle with selling them. Le. Sigh. (It is still about an hour or so south, so…)

Wow, I lived there 32 years and never had heard of this. Now I’m a week late and a few states south. Bummer
