LOTRO Legacy by Chance Thomas

June 22, 2012

LOTRO News

As many of you know, Chance Thomas will be heavily involved with the new musical score for Riders of RohanTurbine released a new video today on YouTube a piece written by Chance Thomas titled “LOTRO Legacy” which (to my ears) seems a montage of previously released music; this time performed by an orchestra.  Of course much like his previous work, the song is fantastic and a wonderful teaser of what is to come.  If I haven’t said it before, let me say it now: I hope that the soundtrack for the Riders of Rohan is made available at some point.  I look forward to seeing what else comes out of the collaboration of Chance Thomas and Turbine!  How about you?

That was music to my ears

The good tracks continue to present themselves and it really makes me excited for Rohan with each new track we get.

When I heard it for the first time I thought I was listening to a hybrid LOTR movie theme and Riverdance. I hope for some real original scores to go with the game. No more Galtrev lumber camp music and that kind of things. It drives me nuts.

I would like him to add the theme from the movie, complete with hardanger fiddle. But I like what he has so far.

I’m kind of hoping they let him go back and add music to places where it’s lacking. I was really disappointed to hear the Bree town theme reused elsewhere.

Nice to hear “Let Us Sing Together” incorporated into this piece! Er…does that mean Bombadil makes an appearance in Rohan? Oh, the possibilities…

Sadly i dont think there will be tom bombadil but the ents inside fanghorn, if u know the lore, have lost all female ents. There is the idea that they fled from the gardens that were destroyed by the War of the Rings and settled into the Old Forest and “dissappeared”

I love these old themes, and to hear them redone and punched up gives me chills!

A mule braying the previous Chance Thomas Lotro themes inside a tin barn would be an immense improvement over the pathetic, offensive drivel that is the RoI soundtrack. I hope that this reprise is a primer and portent of new and epic themes to be introduced in the RoR expansion and added to the Lotro oeuvre and not a discount, rehash treatment with the Thomas name stuck on it for credibility. I absolutely love Thomas’ Lotro music and often drop what I’m doing in certain regions just to stand and listen to a particular theme. I was robbed of that joy in RoI and I want to be able to do it again in RoR.

Sad, they can’t took the original riders of rohan-march =((( Its by far my favorite theme in the movies… But why, they also have the license of the movies

The music for the movies is made by a different composer and as far as i believe the copyright and license is leased by the composer himself. Thats why OST for games and movies have the composer and not the production agency making the film/game. Hence the inability to add them to the game :C

Really nice… anyway I generally appreciated the music in the game, it helped with the immersion, but as the time goes it seems they’re just getting better and better.

    Well done!
