Free Sample of the Week
Yay for free power! I’m not one for buying potions in the store (I’m a scholar, I just make my own) but sure I’ll be happy to take some store potions for the cost of zero Turbine Points! Woo!
Put these potions into your cart and use the coupon code PWR552 to get yours this week!

Monster Classes
Blackarrow
Fire massive and deadly arrow types from range!
Defiler
Heal Evil forces or disable Free Peoples with deadly plagues!
Stalker
Strike stealthily, silently, and suddenly!
Warleader
Rally your troops, heal your allies, and absorb incoming damage!
Weaver
Use poisons and webs to manipulate and control prey!
Store Location: Account → Classes
Levels: 10+
795
517
CSTM RECOMMENDATION: Extra classes add diversity to game play and so picking up a new class or two while on sale seems like a good idea to me. If one of the other monster classes had you wondering, this may be the time to try it out!
Monster Traits
Enhance your abilities and stats with traits from the LOTRO Store. Then visit your Monster Class bard to slot your new traits.
• All monster classes can update class and racial traits in the store.
• Customize your character for how you play!
Store Location: Character → Monster Play → Class Traits
Levels: 10+
195-595
127-387
CSTM RECOMMENDATION: I don’t regularly play a monster class but I’m told the ranking up of a monster to get the traits is time consuming. This allows you to buy the traits you need to survive and even conqueror those nasty free peoples without the wait. You can earn these in game but the time saved in earning will most likely pay off in a much more enjoyable moors experience from the start.
Monster Skills
Upgrade your skills to do more damage, protect your raid group, control more targets, and cause more carnage!
• Upon purchase, skills are immediately usable.
• Get access to better traits, faster!
Store Location: Character → Monster Play → Class Skills
Levels: 10+
395-595
257-387
CSTM RECOMMENDATION: Similar to the monster traits, the ability to buy the skills for ranks that hare higher and will take you some serious time to achieve will only benefit the monster. LOTRO Fanatik wrote to us last monster sale that “Buying the most useful and powerful skills/traits for Ranks you might never see otherwise, is a great alternative to grinding out the millions (yes MILLIONS!) of infamy that’s needed for those high ranks.”
+20% Monster and Quest XP (3 hrs)
Get more for your monsters with a 20% bonus to experience earned from killing monsters and completing quests! This effect will last for 3 hours. Single and 5-stacks available.
Store Location: Buffs & Boosts → Advancement → XP
Levels: All
95-425
76-340
CSTM RECOMMENDATION: These items are new with Rise of Isengard and give the added bonus of not just monster kill experience bonus but a bonus to quest experience as well. There’s no real reason to rush through LOTRO but if you are a bit stuck and could use a boost, this would be the item I’m more likely to recommend over the Enhanced XP Supply. 3 solid hours of +20% exp bonus to monsters and quests are probably going to net you more experience over just monster xp boost on your experience bar. It all depends on how you play though!
Milestone Skills
Set multiple instant-travel destinations! Unlock an additional destination skill to bind at Milestones. 5 additions available! Milestones, or “homes”, are locations that you can instantly travel to from anywhere in the world. Players can bind to one destination at a time for free, and purchasing additional Milestone Skills allows players to access more than one destination at a moment’s notice!
Store Location: Travel & Housing → Maps & Skills → Milestone Skills
Levels: All
350
280
CSTM RECOMMENDATION: I have not purchased these and really haven’t seen a need to. I can see how they would be desirable and do not fault anyone for buying them. Typically I hear that folks like to have at least two. One for where they are questing and one for where they craft.
Hurried Traveler
Reduce the recovery time (cool-downs) on Milestone Skills by 30 minutes to use instant-travel more often! Works across all Milestone skills! This is a permanent unlock for your character.
Store Location: Travel & Housing → Travel Traits
Levels: All
495
396
CSTM RECOMMENDATION: It gets a meh only because it depends on your play style (how much you use milestones or if you’re a hunter/warden) how useful this is. The only bummer for this item is that is it only per character so make sure you buy it on the character you want to have this skill!

I can see the discount in the classes … but not in the traits :S

Monster sales are always welcome, as are those for milestone skills. I personally prefer to have at the very least 1 extra home destination on each of my characters for the best flexibility and travel efficiency.

Yeah, as a non-hunter, and someone who has limited time to play each day (i.e., the few hours between kids and me going to bed), I’ve come to really value both the extra milestone skill and the hurried traveler trait. My main has 3 milestones total (2 bought), and my main-alt has two total. No more than three total is needed I think, and two is probably fine.
However, I limit them to only those characters that I see leveling to end-game (which is only 2 of my current 10 on the server I now play on).

I’d not have anything against buying a Monster Class, but I spent all my TP last week on Quest Packs. I’m not sure I’d enjoy it either, so I don’t want to chance. I’ve never really felt the need to buy milestones, but that might have something to do with that my main is a hunter. Without Swift Travel, the hunter’s wayfaring skills is invaluable for me!

Small spelling error on your opinion on the monster classes “so picking up a new class or two while one sale” i assume you mean on sale. I dont mean to sound like your english teacher or anything since I two have really bad spelling problems too

opinion of* don’t* too*. If you are going to nitpick about another persons spelling, at least make sure yours is right.

I did indeed mean on sale not one sale. Thanks I’ll correct the typo.

Can’t get the free power potions yet I guess. Coupon not working for me. Maybe I’ll try later.

I think there are some issues with the store and the freebie this week. I saw some posts about it on the forums.

I wouldnt mind trying monster play but embarrassingly since joining in October 2010 Ive only just gotten my main to 65.
Too much festival fun every time I log on I think

By the way, Minstrel manuals and Lore-master pets are on sale (35% or so) as well.

Can you please add a note for Milestone Skills to indicate that no matter how many you buy, all your Milestone Skills share the same cooldown? It wasn’t clear to me when I bought an extra one for a couple of my characters; while having the extra destination was worth it, it was a bummer to learn that they were still on the same cooldown.
