The LOTRO Market & Isengard 50% Off

May 24, 2012

LOTRO News, LOTRO Store

LOTRO-market_ENToday Turbine announced a new web site they are calling the LOTRO Market that is designed to be a out-of-game location to buy LOTRO items.

Now don’t get ahead of me. This is not the LOTRO Store out-of-game so you can buy horses and tomes and such while bored at work.

This is essentially a rebranding of we were previously calling the Turbine Web Store. Things available to purchase:

  • All three editions of the Rise of Isengard expansion
  • Turbine Point Bundles
  • VIP Game Time Codes

All of these services were available previously but it was scattered and disjointed. All three of those items were sort of packaged away into their own areas with no links to each other. Perhaps I’m alone in this but I’ve gotten stuck before going to the Turbine Web Store to look up point codes but instead only finding game card information. It was confusing.

This makes a whole lot of sense to me. A single location to browse and purchase these online items.

I suspect this is where we’ll be headed to for the Riders of Rohan expansion. Could this be a sign that pre-orders are coming soon? It was right after E3 last year that we saw the Isengard pre-order offers.

IsengardSaleUPDATE: Isengard 50% Off

I just realized that the Isengard editions are currently listed at 50% off in this new interface!  This is listed in the forums so it is an intended sale.

This is a great deal if you missed the sale earlier this month!

I have not been able to locate any information on the length of the sale so you may want to pick this up quickly.

Can’t wait for the pre-order! It is nice to see aspects outside of the game getting cleaned up.

Very pleased they’ve moved everything to the same place as it really was quite a mission to find anything in the past.
However, I am a bit unhappy that they’ve shifted the Turbine Point bundles up drastically in cost. Great if you’re looking to buy large batches in a single go, but I used to enjoy the fact that if I only had a few bucks/quid/euro’s I could just top up a modest amount, I feel they’re shooting themselves in the foot as regards the ‘in straited circumstance’ and student player base.
Here’s hoping they bring back the mini-top-up.

The offers currently showing in the LOTRO Market are the exactly the same as what was previously listed on the Turbine Web Store. They didn’t modify or increase any of the values that I am aware of.

Perhaps though having it all in one place will make it easier for them to create more options like there are in the LOTRO Store.

Hmm, that had me a little confused as I definitely remembered purchasing smaller amounts on both LOTRO and DDO (even as late as two months ago). Had a quick check on your old newsletters and found the introduction of the large 23,000 point bundle advertised in Dec 2011, during this time there was still an option for a $7.99/£5 bundle, not really life-threatening but as far as I am aware it is now very much extinct.

Glad they are trying to organize more, it had been confusing before.

Awesome. Now they just need to add the Moria and Mirkwood expansions (like, the full expansion) and other quest packs.

It has already been hinted at in the official forums that RoR pre-orders will be announced at E3. Looking forward to see what type of deals they offer.

Nice, what a great day to start playing LOTRO again.

I started by catching up on some CSTM podcasts, logged in to the game and got 2 of the quest packs at 30% off, now I see this post and picked up Rise of Isengard at 50% off.

    Thanks for letting me know!
