The LOTRO Game Servers and http://myaccount.turbine.com will be offline for maintenance on Monday, May 7 from 5:00 to 11:00 AM Eastern (-4 GMT). The forums and wikis will remain up, but players may not be able to log in. For updates during the downtime, you can follow LOTRO on Twitter or like The Lord of the Rings Online on Facebook. Thanks for your patience, and we’ll see you back in the game soon!

Quite a big downtine; any idea what is causing it?

I thought that the festival went to the ninth?

Anybody see any patch notes before the sites went down?

This is not an update, its maintenance

I could be wrong, but I believe they always refer to it as “scheduled maintenance” when they patch.

But they usually say something like: “The servers will be brought down for an update to the game. Patch notes will be available during the downtime”.

There are no patch notes. This is pure back end maintenance. Not an update to the game.

Anniversary has been advertised as extended to the 9th so I doubt they’ll not do that.
Big patch like this could be adding in the spring festival stuff, being May it’s well and truly sprung. But think a lot of folk would be festivalled out after the extended anniversary one. By now I think anyone still doing it will just be opening envelopes for mounts or the emote. I know my mini hasnt mount drops yet and I’ve a hobbit thats missing the toast, plenty of duplicates but they dont appear in bags like the treasure ones did.

Hmmm. Often when they give a downtime, they over-estimate how long the system will be down. But now it is 45 minutes past the announced end of the downtime, and no sign of life yet.
What’s worse is that it is not just the game that is down, but the forums at my.lotro, giving people no venue to commiserate, vent, speculate, etc. about the temporary hiatus in their LOTRO supply — which is why I’m posting here
What’s worse is that today is a holiday in the UK, so many are missing out on prime playing time…
