Mithril Edition For $19.99

May 25, 2012

General

lotro-mithril-editionGameStop is running another special sale that includes the LOTRO Mithril Edition. Both the digital download and the boxed copy are on sale for $19.99 until May 28th. This is a 33% discount from it’s full retail price.

This is a great deal considering what is included with the Mithril Edition digital copy:

  • Exclusive Steed of the Horse-lord mount
  • 2000 Turbine Points
  • Path of the Fellowship Quest Pack (Trollshaws, Eregion, Moria & Lothlorien)

The 2000 Turbine Points alone is worth the $20 price tag so all the other items are just a bonus for those who need/want it. If you need these quest packs and would love an account wide horse, this is a good time to pick this up. Note that if you purchased this already, you cannot apply a second code to your account and get the bonus Turbine Points.

feature_pic_1After purchasing GameStop will mail you the code to input at your myaccount.turbine.com account. You can apply this right away.

It asks for payment information which every time gets someone into thinking they have to be VIP to apply the code. That is not the case. When it asks for payment information select “Game Time Card” and select that you don’t have one and it will finish adding the code without requiring you to go VIP.

Head to GameStop today and check out the sale.

Very special thank you to @Hobbitmeister on twitter for alerting us to this sale!

    Couple quick questions:
    1. I own the Moria quest pack (bought it from the TP store on one of the coupon sales) but not the other three quest packs can I buy this to get the other three zones or will having Moria cause a problem?
    2. Since I already have the game installed on my computer I take it that the code is the thing that I actually want as it will provide the horses, points, and quest packs? (granted I guess the disk will be nice if I install on a new computer to save download time).
    3. The code will be mailed – does that mean USPS or e-mail?
Thanks for your help and all the info CSTM provides – saw one in my local store and was tempted.

      1. No problems. You’ll continue to own Moria and will now own the other three as well. When I purchased the Mithril Edition I already owned all 4 regions through the Legendary Rise of Isengard purchase I made last year but it still worked just fine.
      2. Correct. All you need is to apply the code to your existing account and login normally and you’ll have all the stuff. You do not need to re-download lotro.
      3) That may depend on which option you buy. I purchased the digital download and the code was emailed to me and I could apply it right away. I assume the boxed copy has the code in the box so it is mailed to you – like postal mail.

Bought a hard copy at Gamestop and put in the code this morning using the game time card instruction above (I am currently premium after a three month run on VIP and don’t want to go VIP again for now). I am a little confused as Turbine is now showing me as VIP until May 28th. Should I go into my account info and downgrade myself to f2p again or just let it drop off tommorrow? Just want to do the right thing and yet not loose my Mithril items it just added (the TP and horse are there-can’t check quest packs due to VIP) Could Turbine make things like this any more confusing? – Didn’t know if anyone else had run into this and what they had done.
        Thanks

I’m really glad this happened! I wasn’t able to grab it when it was 15, now I’ll go home and get it right after work!

Last time this sale was up, yes. We had folks from other countries including the UK saying they purchased it and got the email with their code and it worked just fine.

    Thanks for the tip.

Cheapest Turbine points ever, and a new mount too (I had the zones already).
