This week Goldenstar’s Dum group entered and completed the Forges instance in Moria. After turning in all the quests her burglar dinged 60! The rest of her LOTRO time has been dedicated to the Spring Festival.
Merric has been playing the warden a bit and is almost level 51. He’s heading into Moria soon to check out the changes.

Love the show as it keeps me up to tabs on the goings-on of Middle Earth. With Update 6 I had numerous problems which seemed to be relieved with Update 7. Before The problems I was happily traveling through Tolkein’s world. The problems which lasted a bout a month made me lose my Momentum. and it’s hard to get back on track and get that enjoyment back. what Advice do you have to get that feeling back.

While listening to your podcast, I heard your offer to promote blogs on your web site. I could use your help.
I started my blog site a couple of months ago but it doesn’t have much traffic yet. My blog is about equestrian events and news in LotRO. It is called Windy Acres Ranch and can be found at WindyAcres.mymiddleearth.com
I have tried quite a few things to generate traffic. In fact, if you look at the Galloping Gala title graphic, you’ll see three Windy Acres Ranch riding club members! Despite this, it’s still a “ghost town”.
On my site, I try to post news about any upcoming equestrian events, such as horse races and mounted fashion contests. I also post about talent shows and include interviews with people who race horses in the game. There are several articles with How To guides on hosting races, judging, and designing race courses. Maps and photos of the commonly used race courses are available. There is a contest every month on the site, with prizes ranging from 100 Turbine Points to 750 TP. The site has a schedule of horse races, standings that rate the race riders based on their performance, and best of all, a fancy horse name generator. I am slowly building a collection of photos of each of the horse breeds. I am working hard to have a lot of good content on my site.

I’ve been playing LOTRO for a while now, but have just started listening to podcasts about it. I’ve been listening to yours for a few weeks now, and find it quite entertaining and informative! I thought I’d write in with a question that I’m hoping that you or your listeners might know the answer to.
I see it’s Festival time again, and there’s this strange place that I pass every time I go to the Bree festival area. It’s in the Horsefields, at 25.7S, 52.1W. It looks like some sort of playing field, but I’ve never seen anything happening there. It’s a rectangular court divided into two parts, with a low fence around it and banners at both ends. Any idea what this is (or was)? It’s been there as long as I can remember.

So guys, random newbie question for you. For a raid/skirmish night/dungeon run, what stuff is everyone expected to bring? It’s Great Barrows/skirmishes, and I’m a hunter (lvl 32). I’m guessing pots for morale and mana (not what lotro calls it, but you know what I mean), some buff food (dunno what, agil boost I guess), and have my return to campfire bound to GB entry. Anything else? And what would each role/class be expected to bring? I couldn’t really find a clear source on this, so any help is appreciated.

As a note about the ad-free thing. The adds and notices for turbine in game do not bother me over much, but I can understand why it would for some. In my opinion the best way to deal with the in game ones would be to use a “do not show this again” check-box type deal. Also the loading adds would be more bearable if they would keep them changing and relevant. Someone suggested making one for the weekly sale, another option would be to cycle through all the class spotlights every week or other week, same for zone spotlights etc.

Hey guys! I just listened to the podcast, and I think you guys might have misunderstood what Penniwyse of Gladden saw as the “playing field.” From the description (especially the “never used”
) it sounds like Penni is describing the Hobnanigan’s Field, where you got to beat the chicken around through the goal posts. It bugged out constantly, which maybe is wy it hasn’t ever returned, much to my heartbreak.

I agree with Atheron. Penni was not referring to the Tag and Freeze-Tag games which are further off to the East inside of tall-walled ruins. I myself did not know what Hobnanigan’s field was ever used for, so THANKS Atheron for the info. That does sound rather amusing and am sorry I never go to experience it.

Atheron beat me to it, but Hobnanigans was a BLAST for the short period it was up – which probably was like 4 or so years ago. I’m really hoping with the renewed focus on festivals lately that it finds a way back into the game. Some of us on twitter were hoping it would’ve been part of the anniversary
