This week is a special (very non-typical) episode. Merric felt very ill Saturday afternoon and so Baby Hobbit and Goldenstar take over the air-waves and do the podcast on their own.
We have update 7 information to share this week as well as a new horse themed Turbine sponsored event.
Goldenstar’s burglar hit level 59 this week and she got the /toast emote! She also popped into Bullroarer briefly to check things out. Expect a post or two this week with information on Bullroarer.

Riddles in the Dark
Riddles in the Dark is a bi-weekly podcast series by Dr. Corey Olsen (The Tolkien Professor) and David Kale. Discussion will focus on the themes, characters, and events of Middle-earth and lay the groundwork for intelligent speculation about how the book may be translated to film. Each episode will culminate in the hosts making a specific prediction about the upcoming films, to be proven or disproven when the films are finally released.
More information on RITD can be found at http://www.mythgard.org/exclusives/riddles-in-the-dark/
What will be the MAIN role of the Nazgûl in the Hobbit films?
A. They are headed to Mordor: preparing for Sauron’s relocation to his old stomping grounds.
B. They are focused on Erebor: aiding Smaug, pursuing the Company, joining the Battle of Five Armies, etc.
C. They are focused on Dol Guldur: opposing the White Council, preparing for an offensive in South Mirkwood, etc.
D. They are seeking for the Ring: dredging the river near Gladden Fields, investigating rumors of the heirs of Isildur, etc.

Hi there,
I’ve been very casually playing LOTRO for about 6 months now, and just came across your blog. Where is the best place on the site to ask questions?Specifically I have a question related to the task system.
I’ve decided that I want to tackle the task system deeds. It seems to me, that as a VIP, I am levelling quicker than I can do the tasks, and usually by the time I find a new task board, I’ve out levelled many of the tasks. It also seems to me, that if a person wants to do the task deeds, they need to plan ahead carefully.
Should I just relax, go about the game – confident that I’ll have plenty of time and tasks to do later? Does this become a non-issue at higher levels?
I currently just finished my 200th deed at level 38.
I’ve been grinding soft skin off of salamanders for a couple days now.

To Goldenstar:
This week’s episode was a gift that you gave us, your listeners. As you said, it would have been very easy (and completely understandable) to have simply said it was cancelled due to family illness. At no point would any of us that follow this blog become upset because of that.
But you didn’t do that. You were determined to do this on your own, nervous enough that those of us listening could hear it in your voice, but you continued nonetheless. Courage! Strength of Character like that needs to be acknowledged, and you really must understand that every one of us listening was completely on your side and supportive.
And as if that gift wasn’t enough, we got to share a very special moment with you and your daughter singing. Completely spontaneous, it took what was already a home-run and turned it into a Classic.
Well done.

Thanks for doing this, and thanks to Merric for editing this when he isn’t feeling very well. Get some rest fella! The free peoples will hold down the fort until you can return!

Thank You Goldenstar for doing such a great job under such difficult circumstances!

I haven’t listened to the podcast yet, but my answer to the letter about deeds would be the busy Bee Tasks plugin. It is a really nice interface that tells you what items you can turn in, what city they go to, and what faction gains reputation (if any)

Ohhhh boy! I can’t wait to listen to this episode I bet it’s great.

That was an awesome show! Makes me think of when my youngest son tries to talk on my headset when I’m doing a voice recording or raiding with kin. I think he’s even sung to some of my kinnies (he’s four).

Good job, Goldenstar! YOu are such a trooper and Baby Hobbit is a treasure. Hope Merric is feeling fine again.

Goldenstar is my hero!
Surely you must admit,
Work is harder with a lil hobbit,
But all who see would agree,
Goldenstar is the bee’s knees.
When you must make a show flow,
Take it easy and call a hero.

You two did great and without Merric, yet we wish he gets well soon and next time he’ll join you too.

Goldenstar this was the most adorable episode yet! you did a great job!

Great show. I missed Merric, but you and Baby Hobbit did quite well.
For the Riddles in the Dark question, I bet Jackson will choose a combination of C and D. I think the Nazgul will be looking for the ring, and they will be getting close to it (ooh the suspense!) when the White Council causes them to break off the search to defend Dol Guldur.

This was an adorable episode! I hope Merric is feeling better.

I just listened to the podcast today and I enjoyed you girls soooo much! GS you are wonderful, having done this all by yourself without being exactly sure how to work the equipment. Hearing you chat with Baby Hobbit brought a smile to my face. You really touched me. And not just that, you gave a very informative and complete overview of the latest Lotro news. Thank you so much for sharing this! <3
