April is a big celebration month for LOTRO! This month marks 5 years of playing online in Middle-earth! To celebrate, Turbine is having special sales each weekend in addition to the weekly sale.
These items are more than the typical 20% off making these very appealing!
This listing is valid until April 22, 2012. Check out what’s on sale this weekend below plus our advice on whether to buy.
Expansion Quests: Moria
Over 350 quests, seven full fellowship instances (Dark Delvings, Fil Gashan, Skûmfil, The Sixteenth Hall, The Forges of Khazad-dûm, The Grand Stair, and The Forgotten Treasury), and two 12-person raids (Dâr Narbugud and The Vile Maw) for levels 51 – 60
Balin left the Lonely Mountain many years ago on an expedition to reclaim Moria, the Longbeards’ home of old, and was never heard from again. Dáin Ironfoot, King Under the Mountain, has sent forth the Iron Garrison from the Iron Hills to investigate and lend aid to Lord Balin, if necessary. Breaching the Hollin Gate, collapsed by the Watcher in the Water, the Iron Garrison does not find Balin and his company, but rather an endless horde of Orcs, goblins, Wargs, trolls, and creatures even more foul. Join the Iron Garrison in their efforts to reclaim Moria from Mazog son of Bolg and his fell legions and discover the dark secrets that lie in the depths of Khazad-dûm.

CSTM RECOMMENDATION: It says “expansion” in the title but just to be crystal clear the version in the store is technically just a Moria Quest Pack. You’ll get all the zones, quests, deeds, and dungeons so you will have the full Moria experience. However, this version will not offer the two extra character slots and warden/runekeeper class that the retail boxed version of the Moria expansion also grants. The retail boxed version is getting a bit scarce to find or if found can be pricey and this is 50% off making it a great deal!

CSTM RECOMMENDATION: These little puppies are store only items and can be pretty darn handy too if you have a sweet relic you’d like to keep from a deconstruction.

Tomes Of Might
Trolls pounding you into submission? Friends defeated because you can’t heal them fast enough? Then it may be time to upgrade your character’s Might stats.
- Inflict more melee damage
- Deflect incoming attacks with an enhanced chance to block or parry
- Withstand enemy attacks with greater resilience to common damage
- Recommended for: Captains, Champions, Guardians, & Wardens

CSTM RECOMMENDATION: Stat tomes are typically a hot item and with stat caps removed, this may be of interest to more than the core will users depending on how you plan to build your character.
These tomes can drop in game but they seem to be a bit on the rare-ish side. But it is an in-game option if you want to check the Auction House first.
The tomes are a consumable put into the pack of the character that purchased it. You have to use them in order. You cannot accidently buy the wrong one in the LOTRO Store as they only show you the tier you haven’t used but this is important if one dropped for you or if you purchased one off the AH.

Moria pack needs to be renamed to something more similar to the other quest packs, having the word expansion in there could suggest to some people that it’s the full thing.
Good to see cstm are willing to make the distinction clearer.

I thought I read that Relic Removal Scrolls were suppose to start dropping in instances in the game? I guess that is not happening? Has anyone gotten one in game yet?

They actually drop, but as often as stat tomes and not at low lvl instances.

I’m going to pick up one of those relic removals. T7-T8 relics represent a huge amount of gold and time. I hate losing them every time I decon.

Aren’t Dâr Narbugud and Forges of Khazad-dûm part of the Lothlorien Questpack?
Also it says “… and two 12-person raids (Dâr Narbugud and The Vile Maw)”
What about Filikul (Turtle)?
