Turbine’s New PAX Pony Giveaway

April 3, 2012

LOTRO News, PAX East

Today via Twitter, Turbine announced their new steed for PAX, the Prelino Steed.

The horse itself appears to be a variant of last year’s Cremello Steed and will make a fine addition to anyone’s stable.

PerlinoSteed

For those not attending PAX East this year (like ourselves) you will still have a chance to win a steed via Twitter or the LOTRO Lotteries this weekend.

For those interested in entering on Twitter, accounts are free and are simple to use from any web browser if you wish to use it for nothing more than trying to win a Perlino Steed. There are plenty of phone apps and desktop twitter clients available as well should you prefer to use those.

You have to follow @LOTRO or they can’t send you your code should you win.

While you’re following folks, we are on twitter as well as @strolltomordor so you can get our updates as well!

Meh. Looks like a festival mount. Much prefer my Angmar Free People’s steed, or just about any of the mid to high level faction rep mounts for that matter, pretty much all of which are brilliant and much better looking than this one.

Nice textures on that horse. I’ve got the Cremello steed on a few of my characters, but I wouldn’t mind having this one too. :D

This is how you get people to spend their TP…. make a new horse!
This will be in the store someday for 1995 TP.

They’ve yet to sell any other give away horses to my knowledge (I think it was added to raffles, but that’s it). I’d be surprised.

I just keep the lottery page open on my ipad and use other tabs for browsing, works well until the random reset “feature” of mylotro kicks in.

it took me a min to see the difference betw the old pax mount and this, that being said any free horse (acct wide) is nice to have. I won the pax mount last year, and tho its not my fav horse, it is still nice to use on occasion with a matching outfit. The saddle is decently drawn

I’ve always wondered why they have an Elf-ambassador’s horse but not a Dwarf-ambassador’s goat…. it would be great to get a “free” goat for being kindred with Thorin’s Hall, the Guards, and the Miners.

Finally succumbed to twitter after having had the icon on my ipad glaring at me for months. There does seem to be the assumption that you automatically know the ins and outs of using the thing @lotro seems to be the way to go though.

Twitter seems to be a trivia quiz to win one as and when they do it, time seems random which is fair enough.

Last nights lottery didnt seem to be announced by lotro but by cstm so on behalf of my 2 winners thank you hobbits all.

*bounces* I won the steed in the lottery yesterday :) Not for the whole account, but I got it on my horse-collector, and that’s the main thing :D

The win rate on those auctions seem to have been much higher than the typical steed auctions. I won one on my main and another on a low-level alt. Posters on the LOTRO forums claim to have won 5 or more. I’m not complaining, especially since I refuse to buy any of the store horses.

In comparison with other “special” lotteries the win rate seems to be similar to the trick or treat ones although this time around there were no empty or missing wins.

I had 6 eligible characters and all 6 won a pax mount over the weekends lotteries. Seen a lot of them about on withywindle server with one person yesterday announcing they’d got 2 on one character.

It’s possible I may have won more but I didnt pick winners for the next round of lotteries as I reckon once a character wins a one off item like a mount they shouldnt be eligible for another chance to win, in theory the select all option would prevent other people getting a fair shot themselves.
