Finally, actually can see the new epic book confirmed, by them. Unless I totally missed them saying it before, I hadn’t noticed it in any of their writing. Wonder how long it is – the new area will still take some time to get through regardless, though some of those 200 new quests are more than likely the 2 faction repeatables (I assume there are some repeatables since one faction is geared towards group content?)
In any case, can’t wait to try out my sage while out and about.

Even more interesting stuff in the known issues: Fornost Revamp coming! (Known issues: Fornost is currently undergoing renovations and is unavailable to players.)

Anybody knows the cost of the new region? (in TP, for us F2P players?)

Noticed that Landscape Soldier Tokens have a maximum level to use of 95 and somebody over at forums.lotro.com found a door with a level 90 minimum to open. Hints toward what the next level cap raise might be with Rohan?

They’ve already said the next cap will be 85… but they could change that i guess

They have already announced that Rohan pushes the cap to 85.

Sometimes I wonder if those high level doors are just holdovers someone forgot to turn off after testing. Maybe it’s some area only devs can get in or something. I don’t know for sure, but there have been other instances of high level doors in the game before.

95 will probably be the level cap for the next expansion after Riders of Rohan.

I’m liking the update so far. Don’t have a charcter to try out the new zone though. I also found a trailer for update 6 on ZAM. Don’t know if it has been posted here already.

I wonder if an update to Fornost could be an early sign of the return of the long lost North Downs revamp from over 2 years ago.

That would be nice. Fornost needs to be brought up to snuff, but the whole area can use it. I’m crossing my fingers.

I’d really love if they did the Trollshaws ASAP. There seems like there’s just so much more they could do with it. There are a few neat areas (like that Gauredain cave) that don’t even really get used right now.

I bet Fornost will get the “3 wings” treatment that the Great Barrows got.
Here is to hoping its scalable as well, so you can earn medallions and seals at level 75. I bet you will have to unlock the first “wing” and the second to get to the boss fight with the lights at the top. Should be a really cool way to revamp a long instance that noone visits anymore.

What level do you need to be to start questing in the new region? I have alts in the 30′s and 40′s. My guess this would be after Moria 50+ so at least that high?

Anyone is having issues with duplicated unique items?

I notice that you can spend 50 marks to get 1 medallion, but 1 medallion only gets you 3 marks. What?

I was really excited by the possibility of converting marks into medallions. I have a character with approx 22K marks (thanks to a skirmish mark refund) and I foolishly thought “oh boy, that will give me plenty of medallions!” but then I did the math.. @ 50marks/1medallion that comes out to about 440 medallions. Better than nothing, I realize, but still not that helpful when it comes to getting some of the gear I’d like…

Soo… Anyone else getting deeds starting in the new zone without paying TP for it yet? I took my L75 loremaster with terrible gear out for a spin, and I was getting new deeds left and right. Not just rep ones either. I’ve got at least 3 exploration deeds and two slayer deeds started, just from my usual wander through a new area looking for stables.

(this is not to say it’s a terrible zone… quite the opposite, it’s really lovely looking so far, but since I don’t raid much on that character, I didn’t want to spring for the zone right away)

I’d read through the bullroarer patch notes several times, and I just read through the new ones, and… I don’t see a thing about deeds no longer being TP gated. Did I miss something?

    @Dan
I did the same thing, refunded my marks to redo my soldier & hoped to maybe trade some for medallions. It is too bad I can’t get at least a few pieces of the end-game gear for 20k marks.

Did anyone else notice that they have pumped up the mob drops? I am getting 5x item drops from light blues. I.E. instead of one cryptic text I get five. This is what the containers were giving pre patch.

Needless to say, this should aid crafters and steal food from the mouths of gatherers.

    • Torrilin Says:

Yes, I did notice that. It appeared to be universal. I can’t swear it happened in Isengard proper, but it was happening in Great River, Lone Lands, North Downs, and Evendim last night.

The problem is it won’t help crafters, whether it’s an intended change or not. It boosts gem drops, but you already had gems coming out your ears as a jeweler. It boosts scholar drops in general, which is good for low level scholars and neutral for higher level ones. It leaves hides alone, which puts tailors in a bad spot. And it leaves metals and wood alone, which puts heavy armor and all kinds of weapons in something of a bad spot.

I was under the impression that the minimum level to start in this new area was 72 from memory.. Could be wrong perhaps.

  17. Andy Says:

Probably possible but a levelling character hitting the new zone at 72 would be rushing through content. Mine is just shy of that and only now entering dunland.

Ok, don’t know if this is a known or unknown issue, but the level 50 Helegrod gear from the Last Homely house has been rolled back to require the barter marks from the raids instead of marks/medallions it was a week ago. They are also Bind on Aquire, so you have to win the roll on your level 50s to get the gear? That’s an old moria radiance gear type of rollback. Fail Turbine! and why? I haven’t checked the Annuminas sets, but I am guessing they are the same. Even Rift barter drops were bind to account?
