The following items are on sale from February 10-16, 2012.

Free Sample of the Week

This is for a single (not the five stack) mount speed boost. We’ve heard these are useful for free players in the Ettenmoors for quick getaways from pesky creeps. If they’re good for anything else, I am not aware of it but hey, it’s free!  Pick it up for free with coupon code MSB987.

Weekly Sale

Clothing & Accessories

Store Location: Cosmetics → Clothing & Accessories
Levels: All
150-295
120-236

CSTM RECOMMENDATION: Yay for a clothing sale! However I cannot give this a thumbs up because these are simply frilly fun items and there may be more useful things you could purchase (like what I dunno… clothes are important!). One thing I will caution you on is that some of these items are available to obtain in game either with skirmish marks, reputation or from an in-game festival (if you can bare to wait).

Be an informed purchaser and visit Darzil’s LOTRO Crafting Guide first. If it can be earned or purchased in game. Darzil’s got your info! Nothing wrong with buying what you wish in the LOTRO Store, I just rather you know that the the item you are buying is a store exclusive or not rather than be annoyed to find out later!

Cosmetic Outfit Slots

Slot your new cosmetics from the Rise of Isengard without having to store them in your inventory bags. Save additional cosmetic-ensembles and quickly change outfits on the fly! Unlock up to seven total cosmetic outfit slots for all characters on your account!

Store Location: Account → Cosmetic Slots
Levels: All
495
396

CSTM RECOMMENDATION: These ONLY get a meh because having them or not will in no way enhance your characters ability to fight, level, etc. It will however enhance your ability to look fabulous while doing all those things! You can learn more about these items plus much more about cosmetics in general in our cosmetics roundtable!

Mount Emotes: Bow, Rear Kick and Rear Up

Store Location: Character → Emotes → Store Exclusive
Levels: 5+
195
156

Video of these store exclusive emotes:

CSTM RECOMMENDATION: These emotes are store exclusives. That means if you are interested in having these emotes, you might as well get them on sale! The emote purchases are per character (not account wide) so make sure you are on the proper character before making your selection. I personally love the emotes but had to give it a “meh” simply because it is fun fluffy items for your character and will not assist you with your characters progression.

I’ve been waiting for a sale on cosmetic slots. Now I can have a fighting outfit, a social outfit, and still have one slot available to play around with. Absolutely not necessary, but fun? Yes!

(Also, hooray for a smooth server transfer!)

That’s correct, but the free item is for all players. I suppose I should have put VIP only on there so sorry about that. I don’t go into the ettenmoors and I’m VIP. I try to think if everything but somethings I’m just clueless about.

this is one sale i actually took advantage of :)
i bought also some wardrobe space, so i can swap between my chars (i’m premium). and now i have a lvl 62 RK dwarf dressed in heavy armor, with those wonderful guardian shoulders from ost galadh (4 dol guldur meds) dyed black :d yey for cosmetics!
they may not be necessary, but most of the light armor in game looks like crap and the quest rewards look awful combined (gloves from something, leggings from smth else and so on). and if you have an ugly character, you won’t play as much or with the same enthusiasm. so, cosmetics are a crucial part for me :D
