As many of you know, last weekend Merric and I were able to attend a performance of The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King in concert with the orchestration performed by the Grand Rapids Symphony.
To sum things up, I loved it. I loved it even more than I imagined I would love it. I wrote up a short article for Middle-earth News on my experience which you can read here. There’s more pictures to see as well!

I saw the first two at Radio Music Hall in NY and they are indeed a unique experience. The sound is so amazing!
I can’t wait until the third one comes to NY.

After your first posting I looked up the concert dates on thier website. Looks like the American tour is over *huge sad face* with MI being the last one on thier list.
The following tour dates listed Australia and various other countries in and around the UK.
My husband and I went to something similiar to this, although it was Star Wars related. Anthony Daniels (C3-PO) narrated. Throughout the arena were costumes from Darth Vader to Queen Amidala, replicas of weapons, ships, all sorts of stuff. It was amazing.

This is why I hate living in the middle of nowhere, hundreds of dollars and a dozen hours from any such concerts. But anyway, sounds awesome! Thanks for sharing. (:

Saw FOTR in Anahiem this past fall
They said the same group will tour with Two Towers this year and ROTK in 2013 on the west coast USA. 10th anniversary of the films
Well worth the $ for the experience

Saw the Fellowship at Radio City Music hall a few years ago, was fantastic
to see the movie as the music was performed live! Hope to see the Two Towers and ROTK sometime

Hey! I’m in your picture! The guy in the second row behind the three empty seats. Not the best view of the film but I came for the music anyway. It exceeded my expectations too. It looks like you and Merric had much better seats than I did.
