We’ve seen a few dev diaries plus information coming for wargs for Update 6 that all discuss upcoming changes to Monster Play (or PVMP). How do you think the changes in Update 6 will change your time in PvMP? I realize it’s a guess at this point but do the changes increase your interest in playing in the Ettenmoors at all?

There really should have been an option for players that don’t play at all (like myself).

Agreed. I have started a couple monster characters in the past, but see no value to playing them, regardless of what changes they come out with.

Well in that case, a continued lack of playing PvMP would mean you’ll “play the same”, right?

And so that’s what I chose.

I don’t play monster unless our kin does it – it’s not my thing.

I don’t play at all. It should have been an option

As Monster Play is pretty much the only thing I do in-game (other than festivals), I’ll probably play just as much as I do now. Mind you, that doesn’t necessarily mean I’ll approve of (all of) the changes.

I will play the same – not at all. This is the reason many people on my server of Firefoot quit the moors – the monster pay-to-win store. Also, the creep players whine to much about being underpowered when they are not. For example, Wargs have two getaway skills, one short 5 minute cd and one 10 minute cd. The Hunter getaway skill, 30 minute cd, was barred from in-combat use in the moors. Fair? No, but it was done because the creeps whined.

Did you just compare sprint & Dissapear to DF?
Sprint is useless if even one freep is mounted.
Dissapear is useless if even one freep can track.
DF puts you instantly where noone can harm you…

My interest in the Moors is piqued to be sure, but it’s still going to take more than what’s coming in Update 6 for me to put some real time in there. I still contend that there needs to be a wider variety of maps and match types. There needs to be in order to hold my interest, in any case.

I’ve played enough in the last 2 months to get me to Rank 3, and I don’t have much more initiative to do it again, I’ve done the OP caps, the keep caps and 1v1s, doesn’t seem like there’s anything else I could find interesting.

Time will tell if I delve into pvmp after update 6. Will be dropping to premium at the end of march so i’d have to buy a monster class or two if I dont want to use the free one.

Never got into PVMP but apparently it’s important to others because they sure do cry about it a lot. Meh, to each their own.

i voted other, it may give me an incentive to give it a try after hearing for years how much creep side was underpowered. I went ahead and made 4 creeps just on the off shot that one day I will play it full time.

I don’t think I will spend any time with PvMP unless we get that long lost new zone.
February 25, 2012 at 12:46 pm
I’ll be playing more than I do now, but simply because I should have all my characters at a good place by then and can go back to how much I played before, not because of any of the changes.

One of my biggest draws for PvMP is to earn Destiny Points.
Without that, my motivation for going there will be significantly reduced.
Instead of PvMP being an optional extension to PvE play, it will become even more of a completely separate and detached game within the game.

I’ve played both sides in the ‘Moors for five years now – less actively in the last year as the lack of a new zone proved demoralizing. I suspect that most players who have been active for more than a few months will have the same outlook as I do – wait and see. Turbine has a horrible track record when it comes to ‘Moors updates so I always take their press releases with a Troll’s weight of salt and wait to see what they actually implement. This may sound exagggerated, but if you’ve been out there for five years, you know where that severe skepticism comes from.

The PVP changes are unrelated to how I will be playing in PVP. I have dropped down to premium for a while so I don’t have access to there. (Yes, I know I can buy monster classes, but I would prefer to buy other things. Like quest packs.) Later this year I plan on picking up the sub again, so once I do, perhaps then I’ll go back in.

I will play a bit more because of the warden changes: we will get a stance that changes all of our gambits into ranged skills. Pretty awesome if you ask me, especially since they don’t have inductions. The moors are probably the only place I will use this stance, and I haven’t been there in a while, so why not?

The Moors have been a rough place to Creep in of late. Personally I have fairly high hopes that the changes to come will help address that, especially the aim to make fights last longer.
I’m particularly looking forward to the Spider and Warg changes, which both happen to be my main Creeps.

I doubt I will pvmp at all, I don’t now so chances are slim that I will change my mind.
February 26, 2012 at 9:27 am
i’d play but i’m not VIP and i’d only unlock Freep PvP through Turbine Points.
February 26, 2012 at 11:05 am
I don’t ever play PVMP, so don’t care.

Interesting number of responses from people who don’t pvp. These changes are like promising us a new car, by starting with new tires and an oil change on our old one. It will be interesting to see if momentum continues on pvp long enough to materially fix the issues there. Or will it fizzle out due to new priorities.

If they mean I can earn the Coldfells Standard without crawling through the Delving of Fror, then yes!

I have no interest in MvP
