Taken by some madness, Golodir has ventured into the Rift. The air is thick with menace, and the stench of Thaurlach lingers…
You have saved the peoples of Eriador from invaders. You have entered into the depths of Moria and fended off Mazog’s hordes. You have assaulted the very fortress of Dol Guldur. Now you must help to rescue a ranger who has been driven mad by the forces of darkness. Can you save him?
Rescue at Nurz Ghashu is the eighteenth skirmish we will examine in Pineleaf’s Pictorial Primer to Skirmishing. Here we will discuss the scenario, the enemy, and the encounters you will face as you prepare to battle a skirmish set in the classic dungeon The Rift of Nurz Ghashu.

Level 75 raids with the greatest chance of failure:
1. Icy Crevasse
2. Rescue at Nurz Ghashu

Yes, but this is possibly the easiest solo skirm at 75. Almost certainly the fastest.

Is there a penalty assessed if Corunir gets impatient and destroys the fumaroles himself, or is it more profitable to fight the extra waves of attackers and then let Corunir take care of the fumaroles?

The only penalty is time. The skirmish takes about three times longer if you decided to allow Corunir to destroy the fumaroles. I figure you’d average an extra relic drop, an extra 4 marks, and four extra bounties. I think you’d be better off running another skirmish in that time.

I must say I loathe this skirmmish, but I tried it over and over again to get my burlar that mask. It never happened. However I walked away knowing that as long as I had plentry of health and healing pots (and a soldier at lvl) it was fairly easy to finish solo. In a group it is possibly the worst skirmmish to do and almost impossible to complete.
