Virtues
Custom-tailor your character’s strengths based on your play-style or fellowship need by equipping stackable Virtues. Experience increased morale and power, mitigate various damage types, and more!
Store Location: Character → Virtues
Levels: 7+
295
236
CSTM RECOMMENDATION: These get a “meh” simply because you can earn these in the game grinding them via the deed system. A nice short-cut to a long grind but not a necessary purchase. If grinding is the thing that gets on your nerves then no harm in buying them at all.
Trait Slots
Customize and make your character more powerful by unlocking additional Virtue, Class, Race or Legendary Trait Slots to use with your virtues, traits, and legendary abilities.
Store Location: Character → Upgrades → Trait Slots
Levels: Varies![]()
95-195
76-156
CSTM RECOMMENDATION: First it’s important to note that this is only for free and premium players. VIPs have access to all their virtue, class, race and legendary trait slots, however they unlock at specific levels so it may not look like they are not available.
These may not be an important buy at the earlier levels but those nearing end game will want to consider buying these. They are like equipping additional stats that otherwise you’ll be missing out on. I’ll make a guess and say they may start coming in pretty handy around the level 40+ range.
For more information on the usefulness of virtues, see Ketani’s article “Are Virtues Worth the Grind?” or her latest post on Virtue Changes in Isengard.
Slayer Deed Accelerators
Increase the size of your quest log, earn virtues, titles, and even Turbine Points by completing deeds! Earn double-rewards for slaying Goblins, Spiders, and more for 30-60 minutes! Single & 5-stacks available.
Store Location: Buffs & Boosts → Advancement Boosts → Deed
Levels: 5+![]()
75-450
60-360
CSTM RECOMMENDATION: These are great ways to finish up deeds quicker and reduce the grind. If you’re like me and find the idea of killing 320 wargs to earn a virtue a chore than you will definitely like these little boosters

They changed their image to not include the code. I did put it in the post (even bolded it for you)

Hmmm……haven’t you mehed on the Slayer Deed Accelerators before, GS? Had a change of heart?

Perhaps but they seem better to me than buying virtues outright. You’re finishing the deed which means titles and virtues and turbine points but it’s getting you there in half the time. It’s all subject to personal interpretation though. I think Merric is the one that deemed these cool.

I agree with the new setting. They’re really useful, one of the few non-essentials I consistently buy.

The Horsie Emotes and a few others are in the store now for 195TP each.

My experience from leveling a character created post-VIP time, thus with locked virtue/trait slots, is that around 40 I really felt the lack of them. I finally broke down and added the Moria box code to my account for another month of VIP before attempting the book II epic quest line for the LI with a friend at 45.
In general, questing and leveling without the traits wasn’t too bad, but it was a problem in skirmishes.

Is it just me, or is the free sample not available in the store? I can only find a 30 min hope token, and the code doesn’t work for it of course.

Same here.

I figured it out: it will probably only appear in the store when you are logged into a character between levels 40-50.

And now that I am more than halfway through this week’s podcast, I realize that Goldenstar warned us all about this.
