The Fall Festival Returns

November 23, 2011

LOTRO News, Turbine

It seems that the Fall Festival will be returning this weekend!  Celestrata posted today:

The Fall Festival will be returning across all servers as a part of our weekend festivities. We’re going to be putting up an announcement on everything that’s happening this weekend shortly!
But, otherwise, dive in to the Harvest Festival and enjoy!

FallFestival[1]If you’re not sure what all is contained in the Fall festival, you can always refresh your memory with our 2011 guide to the Fall Festival and our guide to General Festival Quests.

As far as what other festivities might be in store for us, we’re not sure!  But you can bet that we’ll be on the look out for further news from Turbine.

Ha! I was just running out of bugs, birds, spiders, and ghosts to grief people with in Galtrev. Looks like I will be able to restock.

Wait what? This is strange. If this can happen, I really hope that events like the Frostbluff theater can be open permanently.

Yes, Pickles, this can happen! All of LOTRO’s “world events” are controlled by server scripts that can be turned on and off with the flip of a switch, without even requiring a server restart. Some of them are even broken up into sub-events that can be enabled or disabled separately. Turbine does this frequently on Bullroarer (the test server) while we are testing the events.

Pickles, the same sentence came to my mind: “wait… what?!” I don’t get it, it sounds really weird: the festival was long enough, they had all the stuff in the store last week and now suddenly it is back? Am I missing something? Has this happen before?

maybe because we didn’t get the intro quest? so most players weren’t aware of it?
either way, the people who got the White Skeleton Steed from the store may feel a bit…ripped off (especially if they get a drop on one of their alts)

One of the main reasons I interact with NPCs on horseback. ;)

They are usable on you even if you are mounted, you know. You are just immune from reacting to them.
I specially like using the birds on mounted players, some get really startled :)

BTW, with a couple more days, I believe I can increase the number of permanent trick skills on each of my characters from 3 to 4 :)

Just think how catastrophic it would be for everyone in lagtrev to use the birds at the same time.

I was wondering why the horse race quest ring was lit up for me to do, I thought it was an old q I had up from the festival. I ran it anyway just for kicks. :)

Just signed-in all my Alts on Silverlode to try them in the “Pony Lotto” down in the Basement. There wasn’t a soul at the Party Tree. Maybe everyone is Shopping in RL, but I doubt it. I think everybody was pretty much done with this.
