Last week Turbine added some new emotes to the LOTRO Store. Rather than just announcing the new additions, I wanted to create a video of them so you can see them in action and then can judge if you need them or not.
The list of new emotes are as follows
| Mount Specific Emotes | Character Emotes |
|
|
I was hoping they would be on Bullroarer so I could just buy them all and record a video but the new emotes weren’t on the Bullroarer build.
Then I luckily started talking with Merrydew (@akabezalel) of Landroval on twitter who had already purchased most of them. She was kind enough to allow me to video her character using the emotes and save me some Turbine Points! Thank you Merrydew!
Unfortunately the sound didn’t record (I actually made this whole video by myself so it’s totally my error) but I assure you the sounds were nothing unexpected for the action. Hopefully just the action alone is enough to help you see what you might want to purchase.
Also /jazzhands appears to be back in the store as well! It was introduced with Rise of Isengard launch but was removed and listed with the Known Issues after launch.

Now this is what I call a preview! Class work Goldenstar (what sounds?). Great help for decisionmaking.

The /mountrearup whinnies and the /rock /paper /scissors make a hand slapping and grunting sound, The /mountkick has hoof clacking sounds (and looks better on a goat than a horse)and I think the /mountbow has quiet hoof sounds as well.
BTW a friend discovered that you can use the mount emotes in combat too but they don’t do any damage.

UGH! should have bought the mount bow, that one is so cool! Thanks for making this!

Emotes may be kind of neat/cool but I have always thought the cost of these things to be atrocious

SO glad they removed the annoying yell from /mountrearup after the update. A simple whinny was all that was needed. Well done – I love the mount emotes now.

thanks for making the video, always good to get a look at them in action first. While I love emotes, I feel its getting out of hand with buy buy BUYYYYY.. what next? other games just code the realistic behaviors into avatars to begin with

Bought the /wipesweat today (why isn’t it just /whew?
) cost me only 195 TP.

Looking good.
I like the mounted bow and rearing emotes. The kick reminds me too much of Buckaroo, a kid’s game.
Not fussed about the wipesweat one, but I like the rock/paper/scissors ones too. That could be fun. I kept expecting it to be 1 2 3 ‘shape’ though.

I only pay for account items, not for only a character

Yeah I sort of have to agree there. 195 TP is cheap to buy an emote, but once you start getting it for every char who you want it for that’s 11 X 195 There’s a lot of good stuff in the store, but a lot of it should be bound to account.
Examples: Emotes. Outfits (1st new toon on a server should get a copy of any store cosmetic that has been purhcased). Horses.

Glad I won the mountrearup-emote in a lottery
The wipe does look cool though, perhaps that one I’ll consider buying for real.
