Bullroarer: Update 5 Patch Notes (B2)

November 22, 2011

LOTRO News, Turbine

The B2 release notes have been published today by Sapience on the official forums.  These changes include some new fixes, as well as some changes that will affect things that are currently residing on Bullroarer (such as the Instance Finder).  Some of these fixes include:

  • Wardens will now have their heals adjusted to scale.
  • The leader of an Instance-finder-made fellowship can now remove linkdead players.
  • The Captain skill Tactics: Focus will now scale its effects after level 65.
  • Skirmish Camps now have
    • Tier 7 optional ingredients being sold on crafting vendors.
    • Tier 6 Craft XP recipes and ingredients
    • Level 70 and 75 scrollcases
    • Cracked Rhi Helvarch Sigils.

A lot of these changes are fixes, renames, and tweaks to the original patch notes, but should smooth out the gameplay in general.

I wonder how much the Cracked Rhi Helvarch Sigils will cost.

I also would like to know what the drop rate on them is from resource nodes. There was a span of 15 consecutive days when I mined several hundred wood/ore/scholar nodes and not a single sigil dropped.

Then I heard of a kinmate getting 3 in the span of about ten minutes.

I’m at a skirmish camp on Bullroarer and the Cracked Rhi Helvarch Sigils cost either 684 Marks + 35 Medallions or 104 Medallions + 16 Seals. I honestly have no idea what these new currencies are worth, but I’m glad there’ll be a way to skirmish for the sigils. I haven’t gotten any yet because my only character above 50 is a farmer and a cook and can’t mine anything. :(

I have several of them and have had some good luck, but they still feel pretty rare to me. At least it’s an alternative way to get them.

I don’t mind them being rare, but at least with shards and flakes, you could count on there being a shard/flake dropper roaming around whom you could hunt down when you needed one.

To the best of my knowledge, there are no sigil-dropping signature mobs out there, and it’s kind of frustrating to be at the mercy of random drops from resource nodes.

I second this. Dunland Needs to have some rare elites wondering places in the very least. Most of us do not have the time to scour the land for hours hoping on a sigil to drop from nodes.

Frankly I’d rather get these from ore nodes than skirmish marks. It sort of takes away from the whole gathering crafting experience. I LOVED going into Redhorn lodes for a round of Flake hunting. Good times.

Can we assume that this means that worn symbols will not be barterable when update 5 goes live and will still only be avail from the dragoich raid or the 12-man skirms?

Well when I logged onto Bullroarer yesterday to check out the latest build, I checked the skirm camp and you can barter for Sigils but not Worn Symbols… so they will continue to be fairly rare but with the Worn Symbol of the Elder King starting to be available then you will see more and more people focusing on getting a 75 First Age…

Is it confirmed, that the Worn Symbol of the Elder King will be introduced in Update 5?
They were also on Bullroarer in ROI Beta in August, that’s why I am asking.

There’s something to be said for the lastest Symbol of Badassness not being available for barter. I like that if you want the best gear, you have to run the most difficult raid for it instead of being able to grind skirms or 6-mans to get tokens (or whatever) for the item.

I think that making everything available for purchase through the game or in the store takes something away from the accomplishment of actually earning the item.

What I still don’t understand is whether or not the new Instance Finder completely replaces the instance-join screen. So suppose I want to play a skirmish with 2 friends in my fellowship, do we have to go through the new finder or can we do it both the old way and the new way? I have no characters on American servers so I can’t copy ony of my own toons to check that out…

It does not replace the instance finder. You can still form a fellowship on your own and instance join to any dungeon you’d like. You can also form a fellowship and then use the instance finder to get pulled into a random dungeon. They are separate tools.
