What was once an important fortification of the enemy is now held by a small band of elves. The enemy seeks to reclaim their fortress, marching upon it in force. Fortunately, some of the ballistae and catapults are still functional….
You are now deeper into Mirkwood and the enemy have launched their first counterattack. Your just is to prevent the enemy from regaining possession of Thangulhad.
Protectors of Thangulhad is the fourteenth skirmish we will examine in Pineleaf’s Pictorial Primer to Skirmishing. Here we will discuss the scenario, the enemy, and the encounters you will face as you prepare to battle in the only Mirkwood defensive skirmish.
This guide is available in PDF format for easy reading and printing for reference.

Wow an amazing article Pineleaf.
The PDF is amazing. Lot of work clearly went into making this.
The only gripe I have with this instance is the encounters are made mostly for groups, and no group (that I know) likes to run this skirmish, ever.
The encounters are tough to do solo (reach boss) or near impossible.
I mean you vs. the encounter boss, vs. incoming mobs from the wave and you also have to keep your NPC alive.
hard instance to balance it in your favour (if you want all the encounters done).
In other skirms this is not a problem as you can simply do encounters at the end of the skirm, here they disapear after some time has passed.
