Outside LOTRO

Very fitting with the launch of Rise of Isengard is this new LEGO model of Orthanc by a group of builders called OneLug. They modeled Isengard after the movies by Peter Jackson.

This tower is MASSIVE and extremely detailed. Their Flickr set contains the specs for the building:

The base of the model is 305 Lego studs(8ft.) in diameter and the tower Orthanc stands 228 Lego Bricks (7ft. 2in.) tall. The battle consist of 23 Ents and 100+ Orcs.

True artists, extraordinary work! They made a static model feel quite animated. I love their ‘water’, and when it got to the photo of the burning Ent I felt a quite noticeable emotional response.

    I adore these people!

    I want to play too….
