Welcome to LOTRO Epic A Day, where I guide you on an epic journey through Middle-Earth, one day at a time. Each Book of the Epic quest is separated into its own Day, with Side-Days for leveling up to the next book. Gather up your belongings and hit the road, a new Day awaits!
The Silvertine Lodes are found directly south (and slightly below) the Great Delving. You enter this region early in Volume II Book 2 and may find it the first taste taste of what many dislike about Moria; in my opinion this is the hardest region in Moria to navigate, with the least amount of points of interest or reasons to visit. However, if you take things slowly you can make your way through easily by paying attention and staying focused on the task at hand. Don’t let Moria get to you – if any one region is giving you trouble, visit another; there is a lot more variety in Moria than you’d expect and the atmosphere and sights are unlike anything else in the game.
Silvertine Lodes Quest Hubs
Deep Descent (Rec 52-56): Deep Descent is an encampment of dwarves just inside the northern entrance to the Silvertine Lodes (9.8 S, 112.7 W). You will find a Stable-Master and several guards standing alongside stairs leading down to a lower level of the camp. There are also quests to be completed, vendors, and Relic/Forge-Masters. Make sure to speak with the Stable-Master to make travel easier!
The Way of Smiths: Not a quest hub, but a tunnel through Moria that you will have to enter for various quests. The door leading inside is found one level down the massive hole in the center of the Lodes (11.0 S, 112.9 W). This tunnel can be used as an access between the Redhorn Lodes and Silvertine Lodes (exits on opposite ends go to the respective Lode). Inside is the Heart of Fire, the hidden forges we searched for in Book 2. Wafi, Stóthkell, and Rink Stronghammer can also be found here, should a quest direct you to them.
