Isengard Launch Trailer and Screenshots

September 27, 2011

LOTRO News

Rise of Isengard has officially launched and Turbine has shared a launch trailer and some new screenshots of new monsters.

From the feedback we’ve seen, it seemed for the most part yesterday’s launch went fairly well. I had no issue patching and only a minor connection issue logging in. I know a lot of folks were having problems patching but I think having been launched a day early it sort of made up for it because tonight I know I’m set and ready to play! I say good job Turbine!

Awesome video. I have to say, I was kind of mixed on this expansion before it came out… But it’s turned out to have far more to do than I expected, plus the areas feel much larger than you’d imagine.

I was kind of disappointed that there was only one new book in Volume 3 too, but it has 30 chapters… and some of those chapters contain as many as 10 individual quests, some of which have a few parts. It’s not short.

Pretty happy so far, but definitely looking forward to the December instance update too.

Succesful patch in the Netherlands here :) (and NO we do not live ‘in the Nether’:P )

Okay, there were a few login issues but that was to be expected and not half as bad as what ive seen in another MMO, wich shall be nameless in this post :D

I have no high level characters so i have no idea yet what to expect from what has been added. I did get the basic pre-order though and i’m thrilled with my accountwide pocket XP-booster.

I had only one big fright… my skirmish soldier(s) seems to have grown even more dim. They now spawn randomly ‘way out there’ when called and stays there until its too late. Im sure it will be taken care of some day though.

Been roaming the Ettenmoors on my free Reaver and its awesome.

All in all… big, BIG thumbs up from my end.

PS: CSTM isn’t too shabby either ;-)

Great trailer…but what was with the weird bleep bleep sound with RK skills? :p

didn’t have any real issue patching or logging in (heavy loads were always to be expected), made sure all my plugins were disabled and things worked pretty well. Far better in fact than most MMO expansions I’ve seen over the years.

the only bugbear issue that has cropped up for me is looting. Do it too quick (eg: before the corpse hits the ground) and I crash instantly every time. Just a matter of being patient for a second for the corpse to actually hit the ground before looting really.

Other than that, well done turbine, seems they’re learning from their errors of the past, which is more than I can say for other MMO companies. :)

When I checked my minstrel, they changed the icons for the ballads

Major Ballad is a treble cleff

Minor Ballad is a bass cleff

Perfect Ballad is an alto cleff
