The following items are on sale from August 12 – 18, 2011. Turbine sales run from midnight to midnight eastern.
Clothing & Accessories
Customize your character with the elaborate clothing and ornate accessories available in the LOTRO Store! Take the Path Of The Fellowship with Hardy Trail Shoes or enter battle with Thick Chainmail Gauntlets and Defiant Shoulderpads!
Store Location: Cosmetics
Levels: All
150-295
120-236
CSTM RECOMMENDATION: As was mentioned in the Cosmetic Roundtable, a lot of the clothing, specifically boots, gloves and shoulders, are easily obtained items in game and most often should be avoided in the store. Look for items marked as “Store Exclusives” and even then do a quick google or check Darzil’s Crafting Guide to see if there isn’t another way to obtain the cosmetic piece. Some items may be worth the convenience of the store and that’s fine but I’d rather you be informed and pleased with your purchase than find out later you could have bought your new threads from a vendor in Bree.
Shared Wardrobe
Hoard away, share and stay organized! Get up to 100 additional slots of storage for cosmetic items within the wardrobe and share amongst characters on your account! Fill your wardrobe with the newest cosmetic clothing & accessory additions to the LOTRO Store – now on sale!
Store Location: Account > Account Storage > Wardrobe
Levels: All
495
396
CSTM RECOMMENDATION: This is the sale for the folks like me who believe there is no such thing as enough wardrobe space. However, I do understand there are folks how could care less about cosmetics so their Turbine Points are better saved for another day. It gets a “meh” rating only because it really depends on the player for this one.

Dyes
Tired of having mismatched colors? Or perhaps you just want to freshen up your character’s appearance. Customize your look without compromising your stats by altering your current clothing with dyes!
Coupon Code: DYES20
Redemptions: 10/Account
Store Location: Cosmetics > Dyes
Levels: All
25-450
20-360
CSTM RECOMMENDATION: Skip it and either find a friendly scholar to help you out or check the AH. These one time use items that can be produced in game are not worth my real life cashola. However, its is totally worth getting. I can justify using this sale if you simply have no scholar friends and the AH dye section in barren.

Are the shared storage upgrades account wide or just server wide?
August 11, 2011 at 4:35 pm
These are wardrobe, not shared storage (important to note). Yes, wardrobe upgrades are account wide!

Yay! Wardrobe!

Warddrobe, I think those are more useful for the cosmetics that you want to dye since you can sort by color etc and it only takes one space for multiple colors and best part is if you want it in another color you won’t have to re-dye it, but for the similar price shared storage or ordinary storage would be better for the can’t dye clothing from festivals, or housing crates since those storage you can put anything in it. But it is expensive comes in 10 and two sets you ate up one purchase upgrade of wardrobe. As for the cosmetic clothing, I agree with goldenstar check out that website! Always some similar thing easier to get than TP.
I usually try ctrl-click try on the items before i decide to vendor sometimes quest rewards that you are about to vendor I check out what it looks like if i like it I get it and throw it in my warddrobe… “riddler’s helm from rivendell”! champion won’t benefit from it but it sure is a funny looking silly hat

As a scholar and farmer I have to mention that the cost of producing many of the dyes in quantity is pretty astronomical…assuming I am doing it right. Planting and processing literally hundreds of bushels of something to get maybe 5 rare drops of a dye ingredient costs plenty of ingame silver and hours of what would otherwise be play time. I make lots of dyes from the “free” ingredients like woad, indigo, chalk, oxides, etc and those are pretty painless aside from the cost of the supplementary ingredients that are used to make them.
Frankly, from the perspective of time invested to earn the gold to pay for ingredients for farming and making the dyes versus just dropping some cash in the LOTRO store – I find buying many of the dyes a better investment.
