I was so excited when this horse was finally fixed with its new skin! As you may know, the Prized Angmar’s Free Peoples Steed originally launched pretending to be the Dunedain War Steed. A few months later though it was reminded of its true identity and revealed to us its true colors. This is one of the few horses in-game that has a very war-like nature to it. No parade blankets for the Council of the North, that’s for sure!
This horse is quite interesting to make an outfit for because it really only has shades of grey and burgundy on it. However this means that grey, black, white, burgundy, rose and red all go well with it (depending on the outfit of course), and even browns to some extent. I decided to keep it simple and stick to the grey and burgundy colors as much as possible though.
Here is a rugged heavy-armour outfit, a warrior entering Angmar and fighting for the Free People!
- Traveller’s Hood – dyed black
- Dwarf Leather Shoulder Guards – dyed grey
- Campaign Backpack – dyed black
- Elven Steel Jacket – dyed grey
- Gauntlets of the North Drake – grey
- Steel Leggings – dyed black
- Brushed Leather Boots – dyed black
This is a more subdued medium armour outfit, perhaps a hunter wishing to be unseen in the harsh grey landscape of Angmar.
- Westernesse Protector’s Armour and Leggings – dyed grey
- Hooded Wood Wanderer’s Cloak – dyed grey
- Fingerless Gloves – dyed umber
- Brushed Leather Boots – dyed burgundy
And a burglar sneaking through the crags and crevasses on a scouting mission…
- Shabby Tunic – dyed burgundy
- Shabby Leggings – dyed black
- Dwarf Leather Shoulder Guards – dyed grey
- Gloves of the Helmingas
- Boots of the Eorlingas
- Traveller’s Hood – dyed burgundy
- Sage’s Pack – dyed burgundy
Finally, the obligatory dress! Maybe an elf lore-master assisting the Dunedain?
- Long-sleeved Elven Dress – dyed burgundy
- Tawarwaith Shoulder Pads – dyed burgundy
- Traveller’s Hood – dyed burgundy
I decided to put hoods on all of these outfits mostly because of the nature of Angmar – it’s not exactly somewhere you want your face out in the open. I would also like to note that I think almost any kind of styling would work with this steed(Men, dwarven, or elvish) because the steed itself doesn’t have a very specific styling, other than random leather straps and a kind of rugged, war-like appearance.
Hopefully this article has helped you think up some awesome outfits of your own. My next article will feature the Prized Mathom Society Steed!

I absolutely live the burglar one, still searching for a costume that will make my minstrel look good. I’m currently wearing the lvl 55 seven stars set dyed olive and the summer festival cosmetics

I personnally use the full Annuminas heavy armor set witch match quite well with this horse.
The Eorlingas outfit from the RoI preorder fits good also. The leather piece of this outfit are a near color of burgundy like the ones from the steed. And the green match with the “scales” of the steed.

You dont see this horse in game much as people generally skip the CotN rep.
That said I have been wanting to do an outfit along these lines for my Minstrel for a while now…just trying to find the right combination of gear and getting her rep high enough (3/4 to ally). Just hoping it doesnt become too much of a fad before I finish!

I have this mount main, and almost every rep ones by the way, and I use it every time (outside Moria, I say)…
For me, it’s the best one, with the Smokey Black, from the Malledhrim rep, side-by-side…
Nonetheless I really don’t use any specific cosmetic… maybe I will change that…
Those one shine really great with the mount…

This is one of my favorite horses ever. I really like the outfits you’ve come up with to complement the horse.
